Bart Peeters aka Cube was born in Antwerp (1977) and raised in Limburg. Music has been running through his blood since he was just a young boy. As a teenager Cube listened to bands like the Pixies, The Ramones and Tool. In the late 80’s his interest in new-beat- and house-music was triggered, and from then on, his passion for electronic music was a fact.
In ’92 he founded ‘Dogstyle’ together with some friends, giving techno parties with top names like Umek, Stanny Franssen and Pierre. After a while ‘Dogstyle’ also hosted some nights at the famous Leuven-based club Silo. The line-ups included highly respected names such as Danillo Vigorito, Adam Beyer, Daz Sound, James Ruskin, Rino Cerrone, Darren Price & Geatano Parrisio . Cube was also a regular guest at Momsclub, Touch, The Zoo, Flamingo and Bootleg Café.
In 2004 he and his mate Marcozz made it to the DJ-Mania finals under the name ‘Magnetic Fields’, which gave them the opportunity to give a warm-up for international top dj’s Jack De Marseille and Luke Slater at the Muziekodroom. The same year, Cube became a resident at Naranja’s tech-house soiree ‘Desperado’.
In 2006, when Cube participated the ‘Next Fuse Resident’-contest, he made it to the final 10, which is quite impressive knowing that the jury received more than 230 demos. Some months later he was selected to play at the Young Talent Corner on one of the famous Kozzmozz parties at De Vooruit in Ghent.
These days Cube can often be found in Neerpelt, behind the decks of the Bootleg café in Neerpelt (where he is a resident for the monthly ‘Glitch’ nights) or at one of the new ‘Plug’ parties at the Flamingo, which also have proven to be successful!
Cube’s style is an eclectic mix of techhouse, minimal and deep techno. Percussion is an omnipresent ingredient of his dj sets. Expect hypnotizing rhythms, dreamy melodies and loads of energy.
