I am here for Friends

About Me

I'm turning 36 this year. I can hardly believe it. In some ways I still feel like I'm in my early twenties but I'm grateful that I'm not because I wouldn't want to turn the clock back for anything. I'm finally adjusted to living in Santa Maria and seeing some familiar faces around town and getting lost a lot less! Jay and I celebrated our one year anniversary in December. They (whoever "they" are) say the first year of marriage is the hardest. If that's the case then we're going to have it pretty easy. I learned a lot more about myself in the past year than I did about Jay, which really took me by surprise. Shouldn't I have already known myself by now? But, I am glad to be learning (about both of us) and growing together. Kendall is doing awesome in school and continues to grow and develop into a funny, smart, thoughtful and quite extraordinary young lady. Nicole is her cute, bubbly, wonderful self. She comes into the room and when she leaves it's as if a tornado hit. Only if it was a good tornado that you wanted to come back over and over again. We're looking forward to 2007. I am going to try to start going back to school soon and continue settling into my new roles. Jay is finishing up his Air Force Academy schooling that he needs to complete to make the next rank. I'm also hoping I can get back into scrapbooking and work through my digital photography book. I didn't have much time for hobbies in 2006, but I miss them so my New Year's resolution is to get back into my hobbies and also I want to start writing letters on paper with an ink pen. I have gotten into the habit of strictly relying on emails and I really miss reading a hand-written letter so I'm going to try to get better at writing my family the old fashioned way.
