About Me

PLEASE DO NOT SEND ME INVITATIONS TO ANY NONPERSONAL EVENTS
Just so you know, I didn't add my own song to my profile in a fit of megalomania. I just want my stuff to be heard, and I figure this is as good as an advertisement as anything.
My name is Michael, and I used to live in Thomasville, GA, but now I live in Chattanooga where I go to UTC as a sociology major. I'm a server at Macaroni Grill as well.
As Christian, I find a lot of the injustice within the church disturbing. Nothing turns me off more than to see a "God Hates Fags" sign or for someone to bomb an abortion clinic. Non-Christians misunderstand Christianity because people like me do such a bad job at exemplifying the truth of the Bible.
I am married to Brittany, who has been more than the perfect wife for me, and has taught me much about sacrifice and love.
You could say that my relationship with Jesus Christ is the most important thing in my life, and Brittany comes second to that. Third is most certainly music. Since early high school guitar has been an obsession of mine. Now, I am an acoustic singer/songwriter attempting to bring a new twist to my music with influences ranging from Led Zeppelin to Muse to Kaki King. You can probably find a link to my music somewhere on this profile without having to work too hard.
You'll probably find if there's one band I won't shut up about it's Muse and if there's a second it's Led Zeppelin. I like music that either has a lot of soul or a lot of depth or both. I also like Rage Against the Machine, Radiohead, My Chemical Romance, and Audioslave.
I'm a big fan of a variety of reading. I'm a sucker for graphic novels, specially John Constantine, but Batman always has a special place in my heart. I highly revere Frank Miller and Alan Moore as well. As far as novels or plays go, I do love the modern classics like Lord of the Rings, Narnia, Harry Potter, Arthur Miller, and I also like some of the old classics like Dracula, Shakespeare, Sophocles, and so on. I'm a big David Sedaris fan, and I also enjoy Donald Miller and Garrison Keilor.
