I started my adventure away back in 1991 when, struck by Metallica Black Album, I decided to begin to sing with a group of friends. At that time we rehearsed in a garage, playing songs that ranged over from Italian singersongwriters to Hard Rock. Up to 1995 it went on this way, between line up changes and raids on grunge; then during that year I became part of Fog, thrash-oriented band trying itself mainly with Metallica and Slayer covers. After almost two years and many line up changes the band split up, so I decided to come back playing with some of my old bands mates. Just like me, they liked a genre that was beginning to spread, and that was going to have a great influence on many people by mixing together the harsh sounds of Death Metal and the classic Heavy melodies: Swedish Death. It dates back to that year my first approach with the Scream voice, to which the Growl one also added during the course of time. In 1998 I decided to leave the band of my city to look for new people and play in Milan, becoming part of a band in which also the former Lacuna Coil drummer Leonardo Forti was playing. Regrettably in the group there wasn’t the right syntony, in fact we did just a few rehearsal, so I thought to come back home and try to form another band. So in 1999 I met Stefano and Marcello, respectively guitarist and bass player, future founder of Psychofagist; with them and with drummer Diego, called Grom (who became part of Ancient the year after), and a female vocalist, we gave birth to a new line up, lasting only for a couple of months and having only one show; then we took different roads due to diverse musical tastes.
After some months I came in contact with Apeiron from Vigevano, the band with which I recorded a demo cd in the year 2002, Endternity, self produce and mixed at the Massive Arts Studios of Alberto Cutolo, who also took care of the mastering, in Milan. The fellowship with this Melodic Death band lasted almost two years, during which we held various shows; particularly one unforgettable concert at the Peter Pan in Bellinzona (Switzerland). After that, our collaboration went over due to some differences of characters and about the handling of the band. While things with Aperion were already starting to deteriorate, I was contacted from some musicians from Vercelli, looking for a singer to form a Slayer tribute band: Reptile. So I decide to be again part of a Thrash band. Things seemed to work well, so we were slowly moving from the tribute reality to more originals sounds, starting the composition of our own songs. Memorable were the shows at the Mephisto Rock Cafè in Lu Monferrato – sold out – and at the Comunità Giovanile in Busto Arsizio. Unluckily then the band split up, because of line up problems and of some members’ will to speed up the departure from the tribute band status. In the Reptile band I played with Massi, now Sufferhead guitarist. Between 2003 and 2004 I went through various collaborations, one with Nightward that lasted only one month – right in time to held a concert at the Transilvania Live in Milan – and ended because of the sudden return of the previous singer; and the other one with a Gothic/Swedish style band from Monza, just for a few rehearsal.
Meanwhile a promising band from the Brianza, Summoner, started to be interested in me and, after the ritual audition, I became a permanent member. The band had recorded an album, Winter Solstice, published by BTOD-Masterpiece, and I was chosen to continue the promotion of the cd. During the almost two years I stayed in the band there were a lot of satisfactions; for example being the opening act for Opera IX, God Dethroned and Orphaned Land, and also a mini tour in Belgium, culminating with a show at the Mons Metal Meeting Fest. The band played a mixture of Swedish Death and Gothic Metal, with seven members including two vocalists (male and female) and was being a good hit with the public, so it was asked to play at three of the most promising summer festival in Italy and in Europe; but at the last moment, also because of the sudden leaving of the drummer, the band gave up. So, due to this and other reasons too, I decided it was time to try other experiences. So I became part of Hatefiles from Milan, Metal Core band in which also Max from Black Sand and Massi from Through Your Silence played. After a few months we recorded the demo Less Than Zero, a mini album in which I started to try myself seriously with the clean vocals; the band held only one concert in Milan. During the summer of 2006 I was contacted from Gory Blister, and after an audition I became part of the band. Immediately after that we played some gigs for an Italian mini tour with the Finnish band Amoral to promote the album Skymorphosis, recorded under Mascot Records. The peak of that year in the band was for me the chance to play at the Evolution Festival 2007 together with bands like Cynic, Nevermore, Sodom and more. Now, after my sudden departure from Gory Blister, I’m searching for a band of musicians that are ardent and, why not… also angry!
