Cynapse formed in the latter 90s with members ranging in age from 16-25. In an area with few metal bands "Cynapse" managed to culminate 4 tripped out individuals with a taste for good emotive metal and more. I recall at the time these recordings were made the singer and bass players current musical tastes were the very melodic American bands like; "Deftones", "Tool", A.I.C, and "Mudvayne". The guitar player and I discovered some great bands from Europe, such as: "Katatonia", and bands from "Blackend4Compilation"inparticular; "AncientRites", "Primordial", "Witchery", "Enslaved", "Emperor", "Diabolical Masquerade", and the only non-euro band (i think) on the 2-disc set neighbors/acquaintances of mine just a couple hours south of my home "Usurper". With a need for speed picking and double bass beats we leaned toward some of the great metal across the Atlantic Ocean. But all members had a love for all music of many ages! The singer Josh is even pictured on this page wearing an "Alabama" shirt not as a joke either as far as I know. The band dissolved in 2001, due to many issues some very serious. I will always remember my bandmates as they were rocking in the basement or onstage, and then the fun times just hanging as friends. No one ever leaves or dies; If the fierce flame that is ones soul remains burning galantly, pumped by the billows of others hearts they will always be alive.
[Info on Cynapse' Songs of lament and insanity]: These recordings are one take cuts off a small channel mixer using cassette tape (80s style yeah!), so they arent studio quality but underground listeners should have no problem with the listenability of these tracks. Hopefully others can enjoy it too. These tracks have never truly been released to the public until now. There are many more songs I may rotate in and out of the page so look back for new ones. As long as a small number of people dig these songs thats all that matters. Keep rocking!
