About Me

Hannah graduated from the Royal Northern College of Music in 2006, where she studied with Rob Buckland and Andy Scott. During her time at the RNCM Hannah was a member of the highly regarded RNCM Wind Orchestra and numerous other ensembles. She also performed regularly with the RNCM Saxophone Orchestra, including tours to saxophone congresses in Cardiff and Berlin. Hannah has a keen interest in jazz and was a key member of the RNCM Big Band, with whom she played lead alto for 2 years. This gave her the opportunity to work with many esteemed musicians such as John Dankworth, Andy Sheppard and Bob Mintzer.
As a soloist, Hannah has participated in public masterclasses with Claude Delangle, Nobuya Sugawa and Vincent David. In 2006 she reached the finals of the RNCM concerto auditions, and also received second prize in the RNCM Granada Prize for her performance of Graham Fitkin's Hard Fairy.
Hannah has just completed a Masters in Performance at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, for which she received a prestigious Ian Fleming Award administered by the Musician's Benevolent Fund. Here she studied with John Harle and Christian Forshaw and performed in many high-profile venues including LSO St Lukes, Barbican, Royal Albert Hall and Wales Millennium Centre.
In 2006 Hannah joined the award-winning Lunar Saxophone Quartet, an ensemble originally formed at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama. The group have a strong ‘new music’ policy and through this they aim to make contemporary British music more accessible to audiences.
