About Me

Lupus is a chronic, lifelong autoimmune disease that causes inflammation in different parts of the body. In lupus, the body's own immune system loses the ability to tell the difference between itself and foreign substances like viruses and bacteria. The immune system attacks the body's own tissues and organs, including the joints, kidneys, heart lungs brain blood or skin. The result is inflammation, pain and damage.
