Music:

Well, my taste in music is broad and kinda weird. I love the old hip-hor and rap from the 80's and early 90's... back before gansta rap took over, and I like old metal and rock, ranging from Sabbath to Metallica to Van Halen and shit in that ballpark. I love the old industrial music.... NIN, Ministry, KMFDM, etc. Queen is an all time fav, and I still play Styxx Greatest hits religiously.I like a lot of the new rock and such, bands like Jet are okay, but a lot of this pop music is saturating everything. I can't get in to bands like Linkn Park and I'm getting bored with bands like Korn that have really had a hard time making new songs sound different then the old ones.I can get into modern dance and hip hop if the scene is right, but I won't jam it at home.Learning to play guitar... not that serious about rocking out, but it's one of them hobbies that kinda mellows your mind out.

Movies:

There's really 4 kinds of movies I really get in to.I love sci fi and fantasy movies, so long as they have enough substance to get attached to the characters, but I don't like it when it's just eye candy, or it's too deep to just mindlessly enjoy on a friday night. I'd put the Star Wars and Lord of the Rings flicks in this category.I love thrillers and such that string you along, then turn you upside-down when you think you figured it out. Ones that actually explain what happened without going TOO much in to it. The Game, Devil's Advocate, the Ring are all good flics in this class.Spleen busting comedies are a must for any guy. But it can't just be funny... it has to be something you can use to pull a quote out for almost any situation. Tommy Boy, Billy Maddison, Office Space, etc... all good flics in this category. And finally, I am a sucker for B-movies that thought they were A movies. I love Godzilla, Flash Gordon, Gremlins, etc... they are entertaining, funny, and you just feel like a kid when you watch em.That's not to say I don't enjoy other genres, but I can't think of any dramas that are in my top 50 list. There's some really well written, heart-touching films out there, very deserving of critical acclaim... but personally, I wanna enjoy a flic, and just be excited about it afterward.

Television:

there's a lot of shows I like. I probably spend 90% of my tv time on either cartoon network or g4.I love a lot of the action and comedy toons they play... stuff like Justice League, Ninja Turtles, Family Guy and Aqua Teen Hunger Force.G4 is great for anyone who loves gaming, and as a game designer myself I often get a lot out of it.I watch a lot of sitcoms when nothing else is on, and I catch my favorite soap opera twice a week; WWE Wresting! When all else fails, it's discovery or history channel.

Books:

my taste in books is similar to my taste in movies, but it really comes down to the author. Some authors write all the action and get right to the point, but I don't find that style very stimulating. On the other end, some people describe every last detail of a scene, every emotion of every character and while you get a pretty mental picture... the books are slow moving and ultimately hard to get in to.I just finished reading Good Omens by Neil Gaiman... very funny book that spoofs the biblical apocalypse. Lots of wit in that one.I've also been reading both the Sword of Truth (Terry Goodkind) and Wheel of Time (Robert Jordan) series'. They both are quite similar plot-wise, but each have a unique cast that you can get attached to. Very rich and deep fantasy worlds with a very solid story. The series is drawn out over a LOT of books but each book is definately worth the read, with the exception of the last Wheel of Time Book. This book actually pissed me off to no end. It's as thick of a dictionary, but all it was was everyone's reaction to the end of the previous book, and nothing actually happened. When he gets the next book done, I guarentee you could skip this one and never notice. That aside, I do love big epic series'. I got hooked on them with the old Dragonlance books.I grabbed a book called a Game of Thrones (George RR Martin) on a whim one day, and thought it might kill some time until I found a good book. I'm so glad I grabbed it, because it is by far the best fantasy series I have ever read. I've already blown through every book in the series and I can't wait for the next one to come out. Most series have at least some predicatbility. You know the good guy is gonna win, and the damsel will be saved, but in these books all the rules are gone and every character is fair game. The heros you get attached to drop like flies, and the villians you hate end up growing on you. I honestly can't even predict where this series is heading... I couldn't even guess very deep in to the next book, and that's what I love about it.I also collect graphic novels. I'm a huge fan of comic books when they have good stories, but collecting comics is pretty expensive. Thankfully most publishers compile their best selling stories into single books. I have a lot of Batman books for some reason, even though he's not really my favorite super hero...but the stories are just so good. Dark Knight Returns is an awesome book, in spite it's age and dated art.

Heroes:

It's really a sad world when I say there's really nobody I look up to. Sure there are people with traits that I admire and even model... but all in all I couldn't say I'd want to be just like them, or follow in their foot steps. I'm probably my own hero because I fucking rule. I would take Donald Trump's bank account tho....
