Hey everyone! We're Jennifer Boss and April Ross, the professional beach volleyball team vying for a spot at the Olympic games in Bejing this coming summer. Since we don't always have a ton of time at tournaments to mingle and talk to fans we thought this would be a good way to connect off the sand.
A little more about us~
APRIL:
I grew up in the OC and still reside there, I love it!(it's not like all the TV shows portray it, really!) I hated playing beach volleyball growing up, instead I played soccer, basketball, ran track, and then eventually fell into indoor volleyball. Now of course I wouldn't wish for any other fate. I went to USC and, with my team, won two national championships and was named the Honda Award Player of the Year my senior season. I played three years for the professional Puerto Rican indoor league, I had fun, but it was just too hard on my body. I'm currently in my second year on the AVP, last year I was rookie of the year and this year, thanks to some good advice and hard training, I took home most improved. I look forward to everyday of training on the beach and see it as a huge blessing to be able to do this for a living.

Like April I grew up in Orange County and still live there. I went to Dana Hills High School, then decided to stay in So Cal for college choosing USC. I played professionally indoor in the short-lived US league for one year in Chicago, then went to Puerto Rico and played for a year in 2003. I moved to the beach after that and took home rookie of the year and most improved shortly thereafter. This is my fifth year on the AVP, I've been lucky enough to play with some really great players in the past such as Holly McPeak, Nancy Mason and Barbra Fontana. I learned a ton from each one and now am trying to apply it to the team I'm now apart of with April. Based on how it's going so far I'd have to guess it's working :). I won't be satisfied with anything less than the gold in Bejing, so I train tirelessly for that effort, wish us luck!!
