About Me

My name is Jerome. Going to UCD. .. AOL: jero1989 YAHOO: jero1989.I believe in the simple things of life. I try to take it one day at a time and to cherish everything that I have. I see perfection in the imperfections of life and I enjoy the fact that people are so diverse.Being raised in Sri Lanka, I have understood the important of helping each other. To have seen people die and suffer without any need taught me a alot about human ignorance and how much it devastates families everywhere. Sri Lanka is in the middle of a devastating civil war, and even though it is sad reality, it has taught me great lessons about what really matters in life. After all life is like a flower. It sprouts, it blooms and then it withers away. Similarly we are born, we are raised, and then we die. But if we live our life well enough we can leave a lasting legacy.Love is the greatest treasure in my life. My family is amazing and my friends are to die for. I have been blessed all my life, and even the trials of my life have been to aid me to get somewhere better.I am not into one night stands but rather a life long commitment of love and undying devotion. I dream of a simple romance, filled with spontaneous laughter and a warm atmosphere in which I can grow as an individual and as a person. I have no boundaries for what I look for, and never expect for a specific someone, because I adamantly believe that requirements will only limit the boundless concept of love.I love writing. It is one of my passions in life among many. Poetry is the way in which I often express myself. My favorite days to write are often when the rain outside is pelting against the hard soil as I sit with a cup of hot chocolate in front of my computer. It may seem lonely for many, but for me it is entering a world that i myself have created. But most importantly, i write in hopes that to someone, somewhere, what i write makes tiny bit of difference in thier day to day lives. Its also important to note that I am gay and very proud of it. It bothers me immensely that even in a country such as America where people are supposed to be equal, gays are not given the same right to marry as anyone else. I believe this generation of people have everything they need to change the society in which we live and I sure hope that we do indeed change it.I am a fun loving person, and I love to laugh. I believe that being optimistic will get you somewhere good even if it is not where you might want to go. My life is an open book, and I know not who or where I will be in years to come. I am open to unexpected changes and welcome diversions. But at the same time I hold steadfastly to my dreams and hope that I can accomplish at least some part of it.I am not perfect, no where near it for that matter, but I am who I am. And I am very fond of people who take me just as i am.-----------------------------------------------------The paradox of our time in history is that we have taller buildings but shorter tempers, wider. Freeways , but narrower viewpoints. We spend more, but have less, we buy more, but enjoy less. We have bigger houses and smaller families, more conveniences, but less time. We have more degrees but less sense, more knowledge, but less judgment, more experts, yet more problems, more medicine, but less wellness. We drink too much, smoke too much, spend too recklessly, laugh too little, drive too fast, get too angry, stay up too late, get up too tired, read too little, watch TV too much, and pray too seldom. ;We have multiplied our possessions, but reduced our values. We talk too much, love too seldom, and hate too often. We've learned how to make a living, but not a life. We've added years to life not life to years. We've been all the way to the moon and back, but have trouble crossing the street to meet a new neighbor. We conquered outer space but not inner space. We've done larger things, but not better things. We've cleaned up the air, but polluted the soul. We've conquered the atom, but not our prejudice. We write more, but learn less. We plan more, but accomplish less. We've learned to rush, but not to wait. We build more computers to hold more information, to produce more copies than ever, but we communicate less and less. These are the times of fast foods and slow digestion, big men and small character, steep profits and shallow relationships. These are the days of two incomes but more divorce, fancier houses, but broken homes. These are days of quick trips , disposable diapers, throwaway morality, one night stands, overweight bodies, and pills that do everything from cheer, to quiet, to kill. It is a time when there is much in the showroom window and nothing in the stockroom. A time when technology can bring this letter to you, and a time when you can choose either to share this insight, or to just hit delete... Remember; spend some time with your loved ones, because they are not going to be around forever.Remember, say a kind word to someone who looks up to you in awe, because that little person soon will grow up and leave your side.Remember, to give a warm hug to the one next to you, because that is the only treasure you can give with your heart and it doesn't cost a cent.Remember, to say, "I love you" to your partner and your loved ones, but most of all mean it. A kiss and an embrace will mend hurt when it comes from deep inside of you.Remember to hold hands and cherish the moment for someday that person will not be there again.Give time to love, give time to speak! And give time to share the precious thoughts inyour mind.AND ALWAYS KNOW AND REALIZE”That the people who are the richest are not those who have the most, but those who need the least. That we are at our strongest when life is at it's worst, and at our weakest when life no longer offers a challenge. That it is wiser not to expect, but to hope, for in expecting you ask for disappointment, whereas in hoping you invite surprise. That unhappiness doesn't come from not having something you want, but from the lack of something inside that you need. That there are things to hold and things to let go. and letting go doesn't mean you lose, but that you acquire that which has been waiting around the corner. That you should use your dreams as a way of knowing yourself better, and as an inspiration to reach for Your Star! Most of all......Remember that Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away--------------------------The only real solution to this constant dilemma is to accept us just the way we are. If we look a certain way, then that’s how we look. If we have something that we don’t want, well the simple truth is that you are stuck with it. But your attitude should not be that of disgust towards your self but rather of love. If you don’t love yourself to begin with then you can never really experience true love. The truth is that most of the time, beauty doesn't just happen, its created. Success isn't just handed to you, you make it happen. If you don’t like something about yourself, then change it. We are all free to become products of our own invention.---------------------------.. MYSPACELAYOUTSPY CODE START --

I'd like to meet:

Anyone!!!!!! i believe each person you get to know opens up in you a world that you didnt know existed until they came into your life. Friends are the essense of life, the reason why our life keeps moving, so anyone with a open heart, open mind is always welcome to be my friend. As far as love, I look for someone who has the courage to enjoy the vulnerablility of love, someome who respects the wonders of emotional and physical connetion, someone who will call me in the middle of the night just to say "i love you", someone to hold me close in the rain and in the sun, and someone who will dare to make a difference not only in me but also dreams of making a difference in the lives of others.
