Nadia, Felicia, Celia and Daria are second-generation Chinese-American sisters from Los Angeles. Their mother, a piano teacher, played a significant role in shaping their destiny. She urged her daughters to express their creativity by learning piano and taking dance and vocal classes every weekend at a young age. They also grew up as preacher's kids, which led to years of singing in church while honing their musicianship and stage presence.
From writing their own songs to choreographing routines, JAZMIN goes beyond the typical girl group. Nadia, the eldest, majored in Studio Art at UC Irvine and her love for fashion predicated her as the group’s stylist. With graphic arts being Felicia's forte, she studied Art History at UCLA and designs everything from their album covers to websites. Celia, the silly one, also attended UC Irvine majoring in Literary Journalism and her lyrical ideas and passion for the NBA reflect her high energy and spirit. Daria who follows her sisters' footsteps to UC Irvine stands as the Michael of their Jackson 4, and her strong vibe holds the group together, making their voices truly united.
JAZMIN gained nation-wide exposure after being chosen by NBC to participate in their Startomorrow music competition led by legendary music producer David Foster –- who likened them to En Vogue and TLC. During their audition, they had an opportunity to jam with Foster and Mick Fleetwood who thought they were “charmingâ€, advancing them to become one of the Top 100 Bands and including them on a segment of “Extraâ€. JAZMIN continues to be in demand as the featured artist at numerous festivals, universities, community events and private functions.
