Boots

I found myself caught on a curb watching the sun move when a profound sense of solemnity washed over me. A grey road started to pave itself before me forming new bridges and landmarks seperating itself from society. It traveled in and out of unexplored territory and brought new scenery to ongoers. Cracks and splits started forming causing conflicting pathways. Certain paths had even been destroyed so much that no vehicle could travel past them safely. Darkened weather made the most extraordinary paths seem like unreturnable endeavors. Eventually small yellow flowers started growing where the grey road had abandoned itself. The flowers were so beautiful that the broken roads had become footpaths for the curious. The broken pavement eventually ended right back at my feet and the grey solemnity turned into a strong feeling of nostalgia. I gazed at the fixed and broken road and right before my eyes sweet yellow flowers began to form in the most mysterious of places. Seeing this miracle, I somehow felt accomplished, almost proud of the pain and beauty I was witnessing and it was then I finally understood why the sun took so long to set that day.
