Born in rural Dorset, Esthers musical training began with learning to play the piano and violin at an early age. Throughout her childhood and youth she made her way into various orchestras and bands attracting critical attention along the way as twice winner of Dorset Young Musician of the year, 1995 and 1997, Wessex Young musician of the year 1997, and winner of P.G.S prize for music 1999 and 2000. She was also Leader of the Wessex Youth Orchestra 2001-2003, an orchestra conducted by Don Riddell M.B.E. which played in many venues including the Royal Albert Hall, London's Festival Hall, The B.I.C and toured European cities including Vienna, Cologne and Kablenz.
Using her classical background as a definite asset Esther set about finding her own voice and style following her passion for rock and pop / folk and began to embark on many varied musical endeavours playing both as a highly sought after solo pianist / vocalist and as a session musician collaborating with musicians from bands Ezio, The Velvet Hearts, Dear Jon and the Chris Manning project as well as players including Paul Beavis (Judie Tzuke, Leo Sayer) Sean Kane (Never the Bride, Avril Lavigne) Ian Close (Sandi Thom, The Blockheads) Kieron Pepper (Prodigy) and Chris Manning (Fame Academy)
Esther began to develop her writing skills and realised that this was where her direction was and in 2004 she formed what would turn out to be a long standing musical relationship with Julie Staines (signed to Columbia records New York, songs from her album 'British racing Green' featured in films including 'Cruel intentions II' and 'Saved' ) a supremely talented singer songwriter who has in her time graced the stage of wembley supporting the Quo on tour, as well as appearing on the James Whales show and having a successful singing carreer. The girls gigged solidly playing to packed out venues establishing a formidable reputation and have embarked on creating a serious co-writing combination, currently working on songs to pitch to artists and films both in the UK and across the waters.
Esther relocated to Brighton to study songwriting at The Brighton Institute for Modern Music playing and writing with various up and coming artists including Danni Nicholls, Kelly Barnes, Rachel Mosleh and Kiina with supports including Neneh Cherry and Los Albertos causing quite a stir on the Brighton music scene. She is currently writing behind closed doors on various projects, this girl is certainly one to watch out for..
