About Me

Well, I'm a human being, my hair is brown, I live with the love of my life (which is kick-ass!), and I value warmth, humor, and compassion in people. I also value shared love of pop-culture, or specific pop-culture things, like music, tv, and movies. (Notice that while I am indeed a graduate of film school I do not use the word "cinema"-it's a bit prententious.) I like making mix tapes, and in this capacity, I am purist-I prefer using actual tapes as opposed to burning CD's. (I just thought it was important to get this out in the open up front.) I enjoy Scrabble and the game of LIFE. I also enjoy cooking, even though I'm not exactly Wolfgang Puck, and the day I watch a cooking show is never ever gonna come. I also despise tv shows devoted to the rearranging of furniture-it's almost like watching nothing. I don't know. I'm not really sure what else to say here-I've just been listing random things. That in mind, I'll drop a little background. I'm from Blackwood, NJ, the greatest town in the world-at least for visiting my parents or getting weed. Chicago is my favorite city. It's nifty. I'm 22 years old. Weezer is my favorite band. I'm a sucker for nostalgia. Casablanca is one of my favorite movies. Lastly, I'd like to add that while my sister is awesome, I have to take issue with her on her not liking of Bill Murray. She's out her damn mind, Murray is the man.

My Interests

Rocking. Rocking hard. Rocking even harder still, to the point of blowing people's minds out of their asses, or at least melting their faces off. That, and the secret, sordid world of competitive air guitar.

I'd like to meet:

President Bush. I had a dream that we played the Back to the Future 2 pinball machine at the laundromat next to Chan's Garden in L-Town, and I've always been a tad curious as to whether or not he had the same dream. Not really, but if I ever did meet him, this is exactly what I'd talk to him about, well, after I opened up by making pleasant chit-chat about the weather and whether or not he'd seen any good movies lately. (I bet he thought The 40 Year Old Virgin was awesome!)

Music:

Uh, the usual suspects. Weezer, Ween, Ben Folds, Dylan, Outkast, Portishead, Pixies, Beach Boys, The Clash, The Replacements, They Might Be Giants, Prince, Django Reinhardt, Television and the epic metal of Pat Brose.

Movies:

Casablanca, It's A Wonderful Life, Jackie Brown, The Truman Show, Annie Hall, Manhattan, Sleeper, Hannah and her Sisters, Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy, The Straight Story, The Princess and The Warrior, Dazed and Confused, School of Rock, Election, Animal House, Boys Don't Cry, Shattered Glass, Nightmare on Elm Street 6: Freddy's Dead (it's totally brilliant, don't scoff), Melinda and Melinda, Goodfellas, The King of Comedy, The Maltese Falcon, The Big Sleep, Wedding Crashers, Animal Crackers, Ball of Fire, Double Indemnity, Stalag 17, The Searchers, All The King's Men, The Lady From Shanghai, Run Lola Run, Quick Change, Heaven Can Wait (Lubitsch), Me, You, And Everyone We Know.

Television:

THE SOPRANOS, West Wing, Scrubs, Six Feet Under, Simpsons, Conan, Letterman, Ed, The X-Files, Sex and The City, Seinfeld, Coupling, King of The Hill, The Office (Steve Carrell version!), Saturday Night Live. And my favorite channel is Turner Classic Movies.

Books:

Anything by Salinger, On The Road, God Bless You, Mr. Rosewater, Welcome to the Monkey House, Conan O'Brien's In The Year 2000, Hairstyles of The Damned, Live From New York (the big-ass history of SNL book), and, of course, my sister's favorite book, Great Issues in American History, Volume 3. Jenn likes Running With Scissors, which I too think is great. Bee Season is another great book. My friend Pat's favorite book is Hemingway's The Old Man and The Sea, which, coincidentally, is also Sadaam Hussein's favorite book.

Heroes:

Jenn, Pat, Stacey, Franklin. And just so you know, Stacey's favorite tv show is Becker, starring the ever fabulous Ted Danson.

With horror, I realize that it's just another Diet Coke.

Its late afternoon on a foggy, boring day. Stacey and I are standing in my Grandmothers living room. The static, wholly green walls and green carpet seem to only enhance our boredom. Im handed a ph...
