Photography:
There are countless numbers of photographers who take photos with more skill and I sharper eye then I could ever hope to have. But art is only a piece of what I envision photography to be. I am a story teller; I use photography as an allegory. A story told to unearth truth. While this story does not always have superb literary style and may not even go into great detail, it touches a real place in our hearts. I know I don’t always succeed in telling my stories but we are all learning and I keep working to do what I feel called to do. Below are my newest photographs.
God:
Life is not easy, so it’s nice to know that there is someone who always has my back. But until I had a revelation of Gods love for me I never really understood how much God was there for me. Through all of the learning and failing He is always faithful. Even if saying I am not seeking religion but relationship is trendy I cannot help proclaiming the fact that I would be lost if not for the personal relationship that Jesus Christ offered me. I have faith that God has a plan for my life and it is my good pleasure to work for his glory alone.
World:
There isn’t a day that goes by, were I don’t think about traveling to the furthest reaches of the world. I’m not talking about the Club Med, margaritas on the beach, world. I’m talking about the streets of Baghdad, to the dirt roads of Zambia. I have a deep love for the exotic and the unknown. The unique cultures of the world fascinate me to no end. I decided to become a Journalist for two reasons. The first is because I don’t have the money to see the four corners of the globe. The second, perhaps slightly nobler, reason is that I have strong desire to see justice. When I started college I wanted to work in elected politics because I wanted to change the world. Now I am content if I can change the lives of individuals in lasting ways. I believe that faith without actions is dead. Isaiah 58:6-7 says “Is this not the fast which I choose, To loosen the bonds of wickedness, To undo the bands of the yoke, And to let the oppressed go free, And break every yoke? “Is it not to divide your bread with the hungry, And bring the homeless poor into the house; When you see the naked, to cover him; And not to hide yourself from your own flesh?” Elie Wiesel, speaking about the Holocaust said; “The opposite of faith is not heresy, it’s indifference.”
