Ghetto Lust

About Me

It is, indeed, a sordid saga.
Out of the wilds of Orange County, California comes ghetto lust, a balls-to-the-wall quintet whose incredibly powerful melding of reggae, old school rock and hip-hop could quite well change the face of music as we enter the 21st century.
First, though, a little background: ghetto lust got its start when the enterprising Monte, who's worked every aspect in the biz from roadie to radio personality, borrowed some recording equipment. With the assistance of buddy Craig Ballam in the mix, Monte wrote, recorded and produced a six-song demo in his bedroom in Anaheim. Within weeks the demo was crossing the desks of various A&R execs and generating excitement wherever it was heard. Public radio outlet KCRW Los Angeles played the song Cobras on its Homegrown show and the response was immediate. No less an authority than Billboard magazine favorably compared the demo to Kid Rock's sound, ranting about "a ballsy six-song demo that combines credible turntable beats with metallic guitars and intense, guttural vocals. We're fearlessly predicting that this act will be popping on a national level by the top of 2000." The future of ghetto lust looked bright, indeed...
Then disaster struck. As the year 2000 began, Monte was pondering his label options and working on some remixes of ghetto lust songs when his plans were dashed. Driving home one evening after a late-night rehearsal, Monte was rear-ended by a drunk driver, causing his car to leave the freeway and roll over several times. The young tunesmith was fortunate to escape with his life, but his injuries forced him to place all musical plans on hold.
Now, ghetto lust is ready to reclaim the buzz that was building at the time of Monte’s dangerous dance with death. He has not only produced a new five-song demo that shows incredible growth from his previous efforts, but he's also recruited a powerful quartet of super-hero sidekicks to help fulfill his vision. In addition to being one of the most charismatic performers around, guitarist/backing vocalist Patrick not only provides the laid back licks behind ghetto lust's sound, but also attracts more than his fair share of the ladies. DJ Timmy 2 X’s is a true wizard on the decks, adding just the right amount of color to enhance (without overshadowing) Monte’s sonic vocal sensibilities. Add the rock-solid rhythm section of drummer Tate and bassist Doug G, and the new ghetto lust lineup possesses a power unsurpassed on the scene today.
ghetto lust: ghet on the bandwagon now, while there's still room!
