About Me

Luciano Bassi was born in 1984 in Santa Fe, Argentina. Since his early childhood, he was surrounded by music. Brought up in a Spanish-Italian family that loved and enjoyed music as an expression of freedom and as a way to unify people no matter their differences, he developed a true passion for this special art form at a really young age. When he was almost 2 years old, his family moved to Los Angeles and San Antonio, as a result of his father's business career, where they stayed in the U.S. for three years. Luciano learned English while in the U.S. After the family returned to Argentina Luciano started singing and playing piano at age 7 as the lead singer of his school choir. During these early years, he experienced something that would change him for the rest of his life: his dream. “…I would be lying if I said that I already knew, back in those days when I was a 6 year old boy, that music would be what I wanted to do with my life, but one thing I can tell you is that nothing would make me smile like singing a song in my bedroom in front of a mirror dreaming of being a singer…” In the following years when he became a teenager, he began to dedicate more of his time to music and developing his talent when he started to play guitar and began working with a vocal coach. His musical background was strongly influenced by African American music and singers… “…I would sit down and listen fascinated to all these guys like Marvin Gaye, James Brown, Al Green and many others for hours and I wouldn’t get bored at all…There was so much passion and beauty in that music…I would definitely say that it was being exposed to Soul, Gospel and Rhythm and Blues that inspired me to sing…” Even though he was genuinely committed to work on his skills and making music, it wasn’t until the age of 15 that Luciano made his first attempt to share his music and talent with the world. In 2000, he was one of the 80.000 people that auditioned for the first musical reality show in Argentina on National TV: “Popstars”, where he made it to the final stages of the competition as the youngest contestant of all. After this great experience, he went back to school and his music studies, performing with his own jazz trio in small mythical Theatres of Buenos Aires, where some of the most important singers of the country, such as Carlos Gardel, began their careers many years before… . In 2002, he auditioned for a new singing contest show, previously released with great success in Spain and all throughout Europe, called “Operacion Triunfo”. This would be his big breakthrough. The show turned out to be a hugely popular show with high TV ratings, with an average audience of 20 million people all around the country. It was also broadcast in Peru, Mexico, Colombia, Miami, Madrid, Barcelona, etc. As a finalist he toured for a year, performing in stadiums with crowds of 45,000 people, and performed with recognized artists... This massive media exposure gave him the opportunity to travel travel and visit many different places, first with the “Operacion Triunfo Tour” and, after that concluded, with his own shows, where he had direct contact with his fans, many of whom had followed him since the show started. “…Being able to be part of such a hugely popular show was a lifetime experience… I met so many great people and visited so places that I can’t even remember… The Tour was amazing… I was glad I was part of that, however I knew I had to stay grounded and never forget about the music, ‘cause that’s what it's all about for me…After all, every moment in this career is just one part of a journey that never ends…” Besides music and television, in 2001 he began his acting career in Buenos Aires and eventually graduated as an Actor and Performing Arts Director in 2005. His work as an actor includes theatrical plays such as: “Robin Hood”, “Medieval Stories” (Both in 2003, Manantiales Theatre Mar del Plata), “Sweet Kingdom”( 2005, Mar del Plata, Teatro de la campana),which was nominated for the “Golden Starfish award” as the best musical, “Efecto Acapulco” (Buenos Aires, 2004), “Escorzo” (he was musical director of this dance theatrical piece in Buenos Aires, 2004), and some appearances in “Costumbres Argentinas” and “Juanita La Solterona”, both series in TELEFE and Channel 13, the most important TV channels in the country… Last but not least, he recently had the opportunity to work in Los Angeles as an actor and also as the composer of one of the songs in the soundtrack of the movie called: “The Dark Party”, directed by Kadeem Hardison in 2007, which is due to be released in the early 2008. It’s plain to see that this young artist has a brilliant and promising future. With his great creative and performing talent, as well as styling versatility, he will definitely continue to delight the senses of the those who meet him and appreciate his talent and his unique art. One thing is certain: Luciano is genuinely determined to expand his horizons and take his music all around the world…It’s just a matter of time…It’s just getting started for Luciano B.found this music layout at HOT FreeLayouts.com / MyHotComments
