Born in Paris France, raised in Mexico city, JP is already fascinated by drums at an early age. Back in Paris for his teen’s, JP starts playing saxophone at age eleven. A year after, when he saw art blackey live, he started playing the drums.
JP spends most of his teens between going to school and going to rehearsal studios. After highschool graduations, JP enrolles college in New York. During his twelve year stay, he played in the jazz and blues circuit, around the village and east village.
He played in the afro-cuban big band at the new school for three years.
This band directed by Bobby Sanabria, played in the best salsa venues in New York. After his masters degree in jazz history graduation, JP played for a pop folk artist, Susan Tunney. He than joined a rock/blues/jam band: Tycoon dog, whom he toured all around the U.S.A east coast.
After JP joined a pop rock formation, Mistic rein, band he played in, around the New York area, the last two years of his stay.
Back in Paris since 2005, JP has been involved in many projects with such as, Solo Razaf, Juju Child, Oumar Thiam, Martial Henzelin, Emana, le nouveau collectif de Paris, and many others…
