About Me

Bob Noble
I was born in Leicester, England, and started playing piano at the age of eight. By the time I was eleven I was playing and singing semi-professionally, winning lots of talent competitions, and I appeared on television when I was twelve. When I was eighteen I turned professional with The Big Jump Band, and toured Europe playing in clubs and also on U. S. bases.
In 1975 I formed a band with Paul Muggleton, Chris Birkett and Mike Spencer-Arscott called Omaha Sheriff. Paul and I wrote most of the songs, and we signed to Tony Visconti’s label in the UK, Good Earth, and RCA in the States. The album “Come Hell or Waters High” was a national breakout in Billboard magazine, but it didn’t translate into sales. It reached 175 in the Billboard chart. A second album was recorded in 1978, but the record company (Good Earth) split up, and the members of the band went their separate ways, although I continued to write with Paul Muggleton. In 1979 we joined Judie Tzuke’s band. Judie had a top 20 UK hit with ‘Stay With Me Till Dawn’, and we toured extensively in England and Europe. She was signed to Rocket Records, Elton John’s label, and after playing on her album ‘Sports Car’, we toured the US for three months supporting Elton, including his gig in Central Park to an estimated 450,000 people. I continued to work with Judie for several tours and albums, most of which made the UK top twenty, but as she had no top 40 singles, the work was difficult to sustain, and I began to get sessions and gigs with several other bands and artists, and toured extensively with many of them (listed in albums and tours). During this time I wrote many songs with Paul Muggleton and Judie Tzuke, among others. From 1981-1984 I was signed, along with Paul to EMI publishing, and had songs covered by several artists throughout the world, including Judie, Kiki Dee and Agnetha Faltsog (Abba). From 1985 we have had our own publishing company, ‘B.O.P.’, which is managed by the Valentine group of companies in London.
In 1992 my family and I moved to the US (Seattle, Washington), and in 1995 we moved to Lake Worth in Florida (we like heat!). I now have a home studio where I have produced, engineered and arranged several CD’s for local artists, and have also written and produced background music and several adverts for TV. I also play in an Irish band called “Fire in the Kitchen” with long time partner Bobby O’Donovan and Rick Bauer at Sally O’Brien’s pub in Fort Lauderdale, and play assorted gigs with different bands.
