Well, I've got some seriously geeky interests, and proud of 'em. Some of them are comic books, RPGs, anime, books, writing, gaming and comic book conventions, audiobooks, music, martial arts, history, supernatural mysteries (think Nazca lines, or if there is something in Loch Ness), theology of all types (it helps to know what the rest of humanity believes), psychology, and philosophy.I'm sure I have more, but that covers it so far.
Well, being single...swimsuit models? ^_^ Okay, barring that, I'd love to talk with other artists or writers. I'd also love to talk to gamers, fans of comic books, anime and RPGs, people who like movies, and pretty much anyone who thinks they have something to offer. This likely means you, by the way. :D
Def Leppard all the way! Listen, listen, listen to Yeah!, which may be the absolute best thing out.Outside of that, I've got so many musical interests that I'm not sure I can list them all from memory. The Red Hot Chili Peppers have done a great job with "Stadium Arcadium," and new bands like Flyleaf and HIM have pegged spots on my radar. Old standbys include Rush, Auf Der Maur, and U2. I also like a smattering of Monster Magnet, Green Day, Liz Phair, Sammy Hagar, Blue Oyster Cult, Megadeth, Iron Maiden, BT, Cheap Trick, etc.I'mI'm also a big fan of movie soundtracks. I collected the set of Lord of the Rings soundtracks, as well as the Star Wars soundtracks.Speaking of soundtracks, let's not forget Japanese imports. I've got a ton of anime soundtracks, which range in genre from bubblegum pop to heavy metal, with everything in between.Right now, though, I'm grooving on the Terminator and Firefly soundtracks...something about mixing cyberpunk and western really appeals to me for some reason.
Um...Transformers? Yes, I know, I know...I'm so out of date. :D I'm going to watch Neil Gaiman's Stardust soon, and I plan to watch 1-18-08, if the mystery keeps up. It's such a refreshing change from going into a movie knowing almost everything about it already--I'm looking forward to a bit of surprise!
Lost rocks. So does Scrubs. Other than that, what's the anime channel showing?
I've got a few on my plate right now. Christopher Moore's Fluke, Terry Brook's Sometime The Magic Works are the two current ones. I also read a ton of RPG books, most recnently Star Wars Saga Edition and KenzerCo's Aces and Eights.Political books are becoming a little more interesting, although they can be more depressing than informing. See Bob Woodward's "State of Denial" and Al Gore's "The Assault on Reason" for examples.I'm doing a few western books now, to properly prepare for running an Aces and Eights game. Louis L'amour is decent. Sparse, but he keept the action running. Kind of like a pre-pulp Raymond Chandler.I do love new books, though..I've recently discovered the joy of going to the library and just looking, checking out a book that interests me. I've discovered a lot of great books that way.
Charles M. Schulz and Rick Allen of Def Leppard. Stephen King is pretty cool for his no-nonsense attitude, and since my brother graduated from Med school, which was a monumental accomplishment, he earns a space here for awhile. ;)
