I'm not sure why, though.

About Me

I don't like music. Ponder that. A lot of my brain has been dedicated to music, and I'm a decent singer. My name is Dan, and I have a Runescape addiction.
This means that I like to work hard for pretend money; that I recognize the tragic uselessness of this; and yet can't stop coming back for more. Emotional 1. Cerebral 0. Addiction is disgraceful.
Mm.. Well there's a lot of me that hasn't been included in this biographical summary. I like to talk about fundamental theory of economy and government, morality, spirituality, and other philosophy.
My sense of humor ranges from puns, plain absurdity (conversations about unladen swallows), ridicule of the behavior of foreigners, ridicule of other behavior, irony, to tragic irony and things that are downright bizarre. It's not the funeral that's amusing--it's the odd way in which he died.

My Interests

Some people don't realize that rules are meant to be broken now and then... until the time comes to break them. Then afterward they try to forget that they've made such an exception (to cope with shame or whatever reason). THAT'S NOT LEARNING BY EXAMPLE. That's just pretending.

I am definitely a recipe pirate.

I'd like to meet:

Sometimes we are the only ones responsible for our problems-- We are always partly responsible... Each hour that a simple problem goes without being fixed, the more responsible we become.

It wasn't your fault, but-- Do you want it to be?

Live Ones: Stefen Gates, author of Gastronaut. Carol L. Otis, M.D.

Here are the dead people I would have wanted to meet: Jesus H. Christ, Theodor Seuss Geisel, Chuck Klosterman,

I filed them in order by last name.

Music:

Wtf category do I put Punjabi MC? Punjabi MC. There. Why is it that drugs make such good music?

Movies:

Batman Begins, The Dark Knight, Stop Loss, The Green Mile, Cyclo, Sympathy for Mr. Vengeance, V for Vendetta... The stuff you don't laugh at.

Serious films may be my favorite, but honestly it's anything but straight horror. Those are the worst movies ever made. Except for Saw... but that would be because Saw isn't just a horror. =]

Television:

Good Eats, No Reservations with Anthony Bourdain, How It's Made, Seinfeld.

Shin Chan, The Venture Brothers, My Boys.

Books:

Old Boy (manga), Siddhartha, Gastronaut.

Books that sucked: The Tao of Pooh, Gilgamesh.

Heroes:

I like video games more than heroes, so here are my favorites:
__Planescape: Torment ("What can change the nature of a man?")
__Relentless: Twinsen's Adventure (aka "little big adventure"?)
__Full Throttle (by Lucas Arts)
__Grim Fandango (also by Lucas Arts)
__Crusader: No Regret (sequel to no remorse, which I've never played)
__Comix Zone (for Sega Genesis)
__Myst (and Riven, and the rest)
__Sonic Spinball
__Earthworm Jim
