The ghost of Richard Pryor...
the funniest man who ever lived.
... and, my kickass Gemini homegirl Angie Jolie.
She's a successful actress, loving mother, and caring activist, all at the same time.
That's what I'M talkin' about!!
I love to hear the steady hum of my 18-year old cat when he purrs in my lap - that's music from the heart.
As for tunes, I like everything - classic rock, hard rock, grunge, headbangers, punk, old R&B, vintage blues, opera, chant, world music, techno, house, u name it...I'll listen to it, at least once. Peter Murphy's a longtime fave, as is Peter Gabriel, Love and Rockets, Bauhaus. Ditto for Ramones, Sex Pistols, The Doors, and of course, the Beatles. And, there's a special place in my soul for the music of Marc Cohn.
Gotta give props my friend Nic Cage...
Whether in comic book or film, I think GHOST RIDER RULES, and you did an excellent job bringing Johnny Blaze to the silver screen!!! Way to GO, bro!!! :)
Now, as for my OTHER fave films...any film with Richard Pryor in it ALSO RULES, blessed be his sweet funny soul. Other comedy faves - any Monty Python or John Cleese film. I'll watch most film-genres, but, I've got a thing for the twisted and macabre on film...monster movie classics, cult classics like "Rocky Horror", "Hedwig and The Angry Inch", and "Eating Raoul".
I absolutely love classic Vampyre flicks, and my all-time Vamp fave is "Bram Stoker's Dracula".
Note the "Prince Vlad, a.k.a. Dracula" pic below...the actress-in-drag managed to fool a few actual drag queens at the West Hollywood Halloween Carnaval '04. Not bad, for a straight gal. LOL!
P.S.....OH yeah,...and, forgot to mention one fave film - The Big Lebowski....(the dude abides!)
Hmmm.........well,...I would like to be on television. Perhaps as a guest star on "Gray's Anatomy". Does that count?
I like to collect old books, especially old classic paperbacks that have charm and character...To Kill A Mockingbird remains my all-time favorite book, and Atticus Finch my all-time favorite character in a book. Other than that, I like philosophy, poetry, books from The Beat generation...i.e. Kerouac, Burroughs, Alan Watts, etc.
Books about the spiritual world, the supernatural, and metaphysics have always intrigued me, and lately I've been studying about psychic cleansing, modern exorcism, and practical shamanism,...so I guess you could say my "best seller list" isn't for the average Joe or Jane. ;)
Right now I'm reading The Celestine Vision by James Redfield, and re-reading Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance by Robert Pirsig.
AND, last but not least, I am a lifelong comic book fan. My faves? Ghost Rider, Hellblazer, Supergirl, and Spiderman.
My two favorite heroes?...
One is my husband, who survived a near-fatal head injury in 2005, defeated the odds and came all the way back from a coma. He is a living miracle today.
The other is my mom, who suffered a massive stroke in the fall of 2006, and is successfully fighting her way back from the effects of it right now.
These two have taught me the true meaning of courage and determination.
Below: me and my mom, at the hospital, Oct. 2006.
And in general, my heroes are people who LIVE & LET LIVE...people who refuse to accept injustice to self or to others, people who step in to help others in need,...people who are shamans and healers.
(and, of course, my soul's two co-pilots,... The Holy Prophet Moses and the Lord Jesus Christ of Nazareth.
"And do not participate in the unfruitful deeds of darkness, but instead even expose them." (Ephesians 5:11)
