The journey began in 1976 when Clifford Orlando Henry was born in the Garden Parish of St. Ann - in the Hills of Colegate, Ocho Rios. After the death of his mother in 1978, he was sent to live with relatives in St. Mary. He spent his youthful years attending Goshen Primary, Jeffery Town All Age and Guys Hill High School. While attending Primary school his natural talent of writing poems and singing was discovered, making him a popular performer at his school and the church he attended.Music became a way of life in 1991 when he started hanging out after school at The Roof Recording Studio where he did a number of “dub plates†for different sound systems, both local and international. In 1994, he accepted Christianity and started doing gospel music. During these years the Golden Gospel band was formed, with Clifford as one of the lead singers. In 2001, he then moved on with his solo career as Clifford Henry, this was when he entered the JCDC Gospel Song Competition with the song “Since Jesus Came My Way†(I SEE I SEE). This was an instant hit in the Gospel arena and opened the way for many other recordings; some of which was featured on Roots Gospel Volume 1 and Strictly Streets produced by Katsjam records. His newest tune “If Love Is What You Need†featured on their latest project, Summer Breeze Rhythm and also off his upcoming album Rocky Road that was also produced by Katsjam records.Clifford Henry explains that he see’s himself as an Artist and doesn’t want to be labeled as anything else other than an artist that does music to educate, encourage, uplift and promote positive and righteous living among mankind.
