My name is Dan, I'm 26 and I live in New York City. For those of you who I haven't spoken to in awhile I moved to NYC almost 3 years ago to pursue a career in the music/entertainment industry after I graduated from Western Michigan University with a degree in music education. I'm very grateful for my experience and musical training there but decided that teaching just wasn't for me.
I LOVE what I do here-- I work as a digital marketing consultant and social media strategist. For you non-industry folks, this essentially means online marketing and promotion. For the business and tech savvy, my specialty is marketing entertainers and related projects using emerging web 2.0 platforms such as social networks, marketing technologies, virtual worlds, widgets and more. Most of my experience is in the music industry (former head of new media at legendary Tommy Boy Records and director of artist development at social media marketing pioneer BuddyLube)but I'm also experienced in the world of MMA/Ultimate Fighting (the marketing end, that is!), books, independent movies and more.
