Formed in Bristol, The Francos take their name from a local barbershop, however all similarities to close harmony singing, straw hats and bow ties end there. More so a shambolic pile of youthful glory delivering adrenaline injected live shows. Hook-laden riffs and sing-along choruses ensure everyone goes home whistling and humming....
Mixed Up was released in November 2006 on native independent SugarShack Records, the debut single perfectly showcasing their frenzied, sparkling guitar-pop.
"The Bristol four-piece are instantly appealing with their fresh, clean sound. Swaying sunnily from the continent to Zuton-esque Liverpool, The Francos exude an irrepressible playfulness, even as their set pitches progressively darker. Guitars are tickly, drums bubbly and wriggling bass lines...The Francos are really very good."
Gigwise
"All songs are crisp, clean and catchy as a wicketkeeper. Having already won-over the locals and armed with a war chest of 60s-influenced songs, The Francos, as their despotic namesake suggests, have a desire to conquer and occupy: Britain is firmly in their sights."
MySongbird
"The Francos are a band that play to their strengths. Or, rather, their strength. Namely, creating great bit slabs of headrush songs that gather you up in their pop-shaped arms, lift you to the ceiling on a wave of chiming guitars and rolling drums, before dropping you to the floor without warning as soon as the three minutes are up."
