She's worked as an assistant to the UN High Council for Refugees and is currently their Goodwill Ambassador . She has adopted a Cambodian son and an Ethiopian daughter. Most Americans wouldn't set foot in Cambodia if you paid them. She went in to help during a land mine clearing operation, bought a HOME there, donated $2,000,000 (or $5,000,000 or $1,500,000 depending on the source you quote) toward setting up a national wildlife refuge, adopted a son, and, this year, was granted full Cambodian citizenship by the king via royal decree.
