Andy De Rosa & Electric Mojo

Rockin’ hard in 2008....

About Me

"Andy De Rosa & Electric Mojo" is a new project that Andy and the guys have decided to do starting in late 2007 since some of Andy’s solo material needed a much stronger and rockier edge to do it justice. His existing fanbase has requested full electric shows and Andy has been listening to them and organized the logistics for this new band.Andy has recruited fellow musicians Marc Helliwell (bass), Richard Bower (lead guitars/backing vocals) and Neal Thomson (drums) with whom he has played for some years in previous bands/recordings/projects. So for now the band is embarking in a series of rehearsals leading up to Xmas. Some of the material has already been rehearsed and pretty much there, but they have a long way to go to finish off the proposed set lists. As you know, Andy never tends to play the same set and this will be a challenge for the band, but the good news is that some of the covers have been played before together and just need a good dusting. Expect to see this band playing in/around London some time in early 2008. Details to follow on this site soon...

***INTERVIEW WITH ANDY***
Q: How many band members do you have?

A: We are a 4-piece rock ’n roll band. I sing, play both lead and rhythm guitars and the harp, Richard is our lead guitarist/rhythm guitarist with a solo style that perfectly fits our music, Marc is the man driving the powerful and groovy bass lines while Neal is our really powerful and loud drummer. We have a great rhythm section going on there...

Q: How was the band formed?

A: We formed officially in 2007, after I needed a full band setup to transform some of my music from an acoustic solo to a full rocking band

Q: How would you describe your music in terms of sound and influences?

A: True southern rock/rock ’n roll/roots/jam band with a British flavour! Rootsy music and southern influences are really where we come from..

Q: What live experience have you had?

A: All band members have had many years of live gigging experience under their belts in previous bands/projects/etc. although Neal, Richard and I have played together in different outfits for some years now. Marc is our new addition to the existing dynamics....so to speak..ah ah. He slotted right in. It was that kind of chemistry...

Q: What type of events are you available for?

A: We are available for pubs/clubs/festivals/functions/charity events. Anything that would give us greater exposure would also be considered.

Q: Do you have any Music or Merchandise for sale?

A: Yes, please check my solo material site: http://www.myspace.com/andyderosa.

My first all acoustic album, "Watching The Hands Of Time" is available from CDBABY.COM, iTunes, Rhapsody, Napster and the likes. Just "google" me and you’ll find me....it’s that simple honest.

Q: Is there anything else you would like to add?

A: You need to see us live to really appreciate the groove we generate. We also love to jam, unlike others...hope to see you soon at one of our shows...Peace...
