Music, Computers, Sudoku, Walking in the rain, Storms, Winter (at least the sunny, crispy cold days. Sometimes the dreary, dark ones even more).
Quentin Tarantino, Gene Roddenberry, Tina Turner (she rocks!)
Some Mariachi music I like:
Sheryl Crow, Astrud Gilberto, Zooey Deschanel ('Baby, it's cold outside', 'Hello Dolly'), Sandie Shaw, Tina Turner, Don McLean, Max Raabe & Palast Orchester. Lots of old stuff, actually.
Lately, I have been listening to some El Mariachi music. My Dad used to have a few records. I had forgotten that I actually liked it a lot.
My alltime favorite song is Trains and Boats and Planes by Sandie Shaw.
Aside from the highlights above, I like anything with a pleasing sound. I don't like shrill or obscene. I can certainly get into accoustic / folk, country (not too sappy, though). I love Olivia Newton-John, Kitty Wells is great. As is Patsy Cline, Jim Reeves. Ok, I'll stop now. The more I think about it, the less I am able to say what music I actually like best.
Here are some songs that I find memorable:
Miss Marple movies with Margeret Rutherford, Film Noir, all of Jacques Tati's movies (especially Les Vacances De M. Hulot), Don Camillo & Peppone with Fernandel, romantic comedies (as in chic flics but I don't think I should admit that on MySpace ;-)). Some of my favorite movies are Lost in Translation, Elisabeth Town, Chocolat, You've got Mail, Second Hand Lions, The Shawshank Redemption, Le Salaire de la peur (The Wages of Fear), Papillon, The Man Who Wasn't There, The Game, Darkstar, Fargo, Never Cry Wolf, Groundhog Day, Sweet Friggin' Daisies (just a short), The Martian Chronicles, The Sixth Sense, Pulp Fiction.
Remington Steele, Fawlty Towers, Jeeves and Wooster, Catweazle, Black Adder, Sledge Hammer. And, err ... Home Improvement :-)
Current stuff: Monk, Desperate Housewives, CSI, Bones, John from Cincinnati (yeah, I know they cancelled it. Morons.).
Any book by Bill Bryson, The Hitchikers Guide to the Galaxy, The Sea Wulf (actually, most of Jack London's work), Robert Frost poems. Particularly fond of Mein Name sei Gantenbein (Max Frisch) , The Silver Locusts (Ray Bradbury) which is actually what The Martian Chronicles was based on. James Fenimore Cooper's Leatherstocking - I must have read that a hundred times when I was a kid. Oh, yeah, Die Qualze und die Sieben Brüder and if you can find that in a library sale, buy it for your kids or grand kids (available only in German and out of print for decades).
I thought you might get a kick out of these. I did.

Honest and a defender of the innocent. You sometimes make mistakes in judgment but you are generally good and would protect your crew from harm.
