Hanging Out
I'd like to meet:
Well I would like to meet cool, funny, intelligent, well off, very attractive, people...but I will settle for cool and funny - since I don't know many people with all of those qualities.
I have some simple rules:
I don't hang with chumps...by that I mean if you're dumb and I am not amused by it...I don't want to hang with you.
I don't bail on my friends...that doesn't mean I won't leave your ass hanging to dry if I have shit to do - but it does mean that if we were real friends and we hadn't talked for 3 months and you get kicked out of your house - I will probably let you crash for a little bit...
I don't hang with free-loaders...I earn my way...if your spoiled...fine that's not exactly your fault...but as long as you simply don't say "Hey I am just going to depend on someone else's wealth for the rest of my life." I won't
1: Kill you
2: Think your a chump (see rule 1)
I don't care if your attractive really. I do care if your not attractive and you act like your the shit. But one thing I want to make clear...if your unattractive...please understand that just because you think I am a nice guy doesn't mean I want to be with you. That may sound shallow...but deal with it...we all have our standards...and there should be nothing wrong with that.
If you want to go do something random like hike up a mountain or hang upside down from a bridge...I am down...just as long as I am sure that I won't be dead.
Basically I believe everyone has the potential to be cool and worth while...unfortunately I also see that plenty of people have just tossed this possibility out the window.
Anyway that's who I want to meet.
Movies:
Well since I have quite a few movies that I really like - I will just list a few here and when I get bored I will stop:
Snakes on a Plane (Best Movie Ever Made)
V For Vendetta
Underworld I & II
Lord of War
Beer Fest
The Matrix (The Original)
Blade (The Original)
Spartakis
Gladiator
Pearl Harbor
Band of Brothers
And now I am bored...so if you really want to talk about movies...you should just talk to me.
Television:
I used to not really watch television but lately I catch it either every night or everyother night.
I have been watching Futurama, Family Guy, Naruto, Attack of the Show, The Daily Show...
I pretty much only watch G4 - and Comedy Central
Books:
Well I have read alot of books - but a few did stand out.
The Harry Potter is good - I look forward to the next book, and it only can be considered childish if you can consider the lord of the rings childish. Just because a book is about children doesn't mean it is only for children.
Which brings me to another great book - Ender's Game, a book I really like for many reasons which I feel like discussing another time.
Other books that I read involve Oreilly Books on what ever, from programming and what not. I recently read Gilgamesh which was pretty decent and The Book Of The Dead, which gave me some insight to the cultures and beliefs of ancient (and some of modern) Egypt.
I also enjoyed the Artemis Foul Series.
I have read many books but those are the ones that come to mind at the moment.
Heroes:
First off...let me say...Steve Erwin will not be in this list...for I do not doubt he was a good man...but he was no special man...and it angers me that he gets more recognition for dieing by stingray than Richard Pryor's death.
One of my all time heros is my Dad, it's cheesy but he pretty much has worked his butt off for a real long time raising my ass and raising my sister. Maried 3 times having 4 kids, and 3 surviving aint that bad. Go Dad.
Another hero is my cousin Seth...he is a pretty smooth guy, tall guy with black wavy hair who plays video games, swing dances, programs, and can kick the shit out of most people I know. Been a while since I have seen him.
I don't believe in having heros I cannot relate to, and heros that are not real. I have admiration and desire similarity to those who aren't real but I do not consider them heros. So those are my two real heros. Here you will not see anyone from 9-11 because I infact knew no one who was there (or knew them well anyway) and you will not see any generalities...like the people who lived the the holocaust.
And last but not least - my big sister Evanie for making it through life and being through more than most, getting married and having my nieces. Hey - you paved the way - now show them youngins how life is lived!
