Dan J. Schulte

I’ve been composing electronic music for a good part of 20 years, primarily progressive sequencer/berlin school electronica and soundscapes inspired by everything from pioneers of electronic and film music to film’s themselves. I’m into fantasy, horror and sci-fi (and film scores in general) so it’s not uncommon for me to inject inspiration from my favorite films into my work. My styles are pretty versatile but my favorite realm is the minimalistic style of John Carpenter and Alan Howarth or the berlin school ambience of Tangerine Dream. While many EM composers rely heavily on software-based composing programs and sequencing tools, my music is composed entirely in real time with no PC/MAC software based programs. I feel this gives the music a more organic and improvised soul. I stay busy scoring for Horror’s Hallowed Grounds, publishing my own work and illustrating my sci-fi epic, Unit Revelation, which I’m sure Spielberg will eventually hassle me to make into a movie.
