To cut the story short, im a one-piece band (yeah, just me by myself). I write my own music, lyrics. Its me singing, if you`re wondering. My close friend from russia helps me record stuff (will talk about it in a minute) and arrange certain things (cause he has a life-time of experience in it).
I am a classicaly trained musician, my profession is a solo concert-violinist. I also play piano and try to learn quitar. I am very arty and design clothes, shoes etc (which more often consists of just buying lots of old ugly stuff from charity shops, cutting it all up and making it into designer master-pieces : ).
This is how my music works : i write music (i mean, everything pretty much- quitar/bass parts, voice-melodies, drums, etc) and lyrics and keep them to myself until i go to russia to see my family. Here is where fun starts- my russian mate, Feddy (he has his own myspace page which is on my top-8 friends list) has been envolved in alternative music scene for a very long time and can play pretty much any instrument in the world. I go to him and play him my songs on the piano, explaining exactly what i want and how i would like it to sound. We then sit down and chose all the right "noises" and instruments, he plays them, sometimes suggests some things, programmes the drums, we then record the voice- and the song is done. The only problem, is that i never have enough time to record all the songs i want to record (cause i only go there for couple of weeks twice a year), so i still have many songs which are unfinished/not recorded at all. They are all in my head and my note-pad.... I want to start gigging, but unfortunately im quite picky and want all the best musicians in my band. Need two completely different in style quitarists, one prefferably trained as a classical quitarists, or at least one that can pretend to be one- with nice melodies and a crisp sound, with a will to write his own part (not excluding suggestions from other members). Another one, with a very heavy, bassy sound, who would give the "umph" to the band, so it doesnt sound too "wishy-washy-girlie-wirlie" (not going for that sound, SORRY). A bassist, who`d play the bass as an instrument, not some piece of furniture, and know more than just three notes-per-album. And an imaginative drummer, who could keep the tempo and rhythm to say the least.
So, as you can see, this is quite a tricky matter, but im still hopeful i might find someone who would be suitable and who would like to help me write and perform the sort of music that you can hear on this page.And here is my little kitty called Borris- you can find him on a crazy "myspace for cats"- called "Catster"...
