I escaped from my mothers vagina sometime around noon, on January 26, 1977. I emerged from her with a gigantic smile on my face, being held by the doctor, who at the time i thought was my father, and i said to myself "I'm a doctors son, lifes gonna be great!!", but that smile soon turned to a thizz face when he handed me over to my mother and i realized the drunk negro next to her was my dad......i looked at the two of them "ebony and ivory" and said to myself "IM FUCKED"XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXAm I black, am I white?, Check the box that says other/ my daddy was a dope fiend, my mother was a nigga lover. This line from one of D-Roachs earlier and most controversial songs All Mixed Up, is just a brief indication that this twenty something, bay area, born and bred, M.C./ Entrepreneur is definitely not your average rap artist. Armed with undeniable talent, and his success or suicide attitude, D-Roach a.k.a Halfbreed Hef, is destined to become a fixture in this business and change the game as we now know it. Raised in the small and predominately white, northern California town of Martinez, by his Caucasian mother and often absent African-American father, a young D-Roach took to music as a way to express himself and showcase his talents and personality. Throughout high school, D-Roach recorded and sold numerous self produced underground demos, that started to create a buzz, not only in his home town, but also in neighboring towns in the Bay Area. His often vulgar and over the top lyrics, mixed with his charismatic delivery and taboo subject matter, definitely set him apart from the sea of other artists that were over saturating the underground rap scene. As a senior in high school, the self-proclaimed Mutt formed Mutt Muzik Entertainment, and would eventually release his first full length album entitled If These Walls Could Talk to Mixed reactions. To the party crowd and mainly male based audience it was a sound track to their lifestyles, but to the conservative and easily offended, it was proof in the pudding, that our society was headed straight to hell and D-Roach was driving. After selling nearly 5 to 6,000 units by himself, out the trunk, and through consignment deals in local record and adult video stores, D-Roach took a break from his usual brand of raunch, and decided to broaden his writing skills by recording more radio friendly songs, that would eventually lead him to numerous publishing deals, and getting his songs placed on a variety of popular TV shows such as, Punkd, Pimp My Ride, Laguna Beach, and Americas Next Top Model, to name a few. With the blend of both styles, and an ability to reach both the mainstream and underground audiences, D-Roach is absolutely certain that he has found his formula for success and knows it is just a matter of time before the world will realize it. In 2005, D-Roach relocated to Las Vegas, to get new inspiration and continue his venture in the entertainment business. He started the year off by hosting the V.I.P. parties for the College All-Star Football Game, The Las Vegas All American Classic, where at the final party he was escorted out of the casino by security, when a staged confrontation with a long time Mutt Muzik associate and party promoter became a little too believable, and a little too out of hand. Its all entertainment, say D-Roach, my goal is to be the Vince Mcmahon of music, and that little stunt led to numerous cd sales that night, and was probably the most talked about and remembered event that whole week Whether creating new music or building up his image and character in public or on his web pages and website, D-Roach is always on, and has become a marketing machine. With his undeniable talents and knowledge of the business, D-Roach is positive it will lead him to his ultimate goalsuccess in the entertainment world. Its Mutt Muzik, I definitely rep for all my Mutts and Halfbreeds but if you break it down, everybodys pretty much mixed up these days and what Im doing is trying to reach the masses, from the streets to the penthouse suites, Im trying to hit them all. I have two options here, success or suicide, and I dont plan on killing myself Currently D-Roach is back in the lab working on more songs for TV and putting the finishing touches on his next full length project The Retirement Party, which will be out later in 2007.I'm D-ROACH aka HAlfbreed Hef, mutt it do???? welcome to my world.
