I am here for Friends

About Me

I am 23 years old. Christian. Trying to learn to love as Jesus loved. I know I am called to full-time gospel ministry, although I am still waiting for God to reveal the next step in His plan. So far I have graduated Bible college, spent 3 years as youth pastor, done multiple mission trips to Mexico, one to Ukraine, and six weeks in Africa. Currently I teach the Sunday night service at my church in Odessa. I can't wait for His return, but until then ;I do believe that serving God is the greatest calling because no matter where you are, the U.S. or Africa, or somewhere unknown it is always an adventure.

My Interests

Jesus, World missions, and Kingdom politics...

I'd like to meet:

People with a passion for reclaiming the image of God in humanity. A few examples are Brother Andrew (author and missionary), Tim Scott and Will Decker (missionaries and reality tv stars on Travel the Road, great show) , Dan Kimball (pastor and author) , Mark Driscoll (pastor and author), Rob Bell, and Donald Miller (author)..

Music:

I listen to mostly Christian music. Everything from Disciple to Cross Movement to Building 429 to Danilo Montero to David Crowder to Desperation Band and a lot of stuff in between.

Movies:

Anything scary and anything with lawyers... My favorite movie is A Few Good Men, but The Exorcism of Emily Rose had a good mix of scary and lawyer... Other great movies are Elf, Phantom of the Opera, Luther, Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy, Saw 1,2, and 3, TX Chainsaw Massacre, The Chronicles of Narnia, End of the Spear, The Harry Potter movies, and I don't know what else right now...

Television:

Addicted to Lost, Prison Break, The Simpsons, Bones, Eli Stone, The Colbert Report, Supernatural, and want to go on Oprah's big give.

Books:

I read alot, but here is are some good ones for you to try: The Bible, Radical Reformission by Mark Driscoll, The Irresistible Revolution and Jesus for President by Shane Claiborne, any book by Donald Miller, The Secret Message of Jesus by Brian McClaren, The Barbarian Way by Erwin McManus, A Generous Orthodoxy by McClaren... If you need some more, just ask.

Calvinism versus Armenianism

Possibly the biggest theological debate in Christianity since Martin Luther nailed his 95 thesis to the Whittenburg door has been the one continually fought between Calvinists and Armenianists. The c...

Evolution versus Intellegent Designers

I have been thinking a lot this weekend about the arguments for evolution and the big bang theory compared to the Biblical accounts of God's design for creation. This came up ...

Let’s get controversial... (I NEED HELP!)

As some of you may have noticed, Monday came and went and I did not post a blog. Mainly it was because I had a busy weekend but the reason I still have not posted is because I am on a thought pattern ...

"Back in My Day..." Part 2

Ok. Last week I kind of bashed the idea that since Adam and Eve fell in the Garden, there has never been a better point in history than today. Not that today is great, but tha...

"Back in My Day..." Part 1

One thing that has been driving me crazy, as I have had the opportunity to talk with some older pastors and older lay persons in the church, is this idea that 50 years ago (or...

Why I cant witness...

There has been a great conversation going on among Christians for a while now, even among fundamentalists, as to how we can better approach non-believers with the Gospel. Most have come to realiz...
