Johnny Ostentatious

The whole world stinks when ya got shit on your moustache.

About Me

I put out my short suspense novels on my small press, Active Bladder . My own website features some of my shorter fiction and other stuff to induce somnambulism. Thanks for your interest. . . .

My Interests

Reading, writing and listening to music.

I'd like to meet:

Writers, musicians and artists.

Music:

Punk and classical.

Movies:

Don't really watch too many movies anymore -- I'd rather spend the time reading novels; though, I do rent a lot of TV shows on DVD.

Television:

TV would be great if it weren't for the ads and not-so-subtle product placements.

Books:

Favourite books are Stephen King's GREEN MILE, CELL and almost anything he wrote up to PET SEMETARY; Dean Koontz's MR. MURDER; John D. MacDonald stand-alone novels; Clive Barker's THIEF OF ALWAYS; J.K. Rowling's GOBLETS OF FIRE and HALF-BLOODED PRINCE; and some Michael Crichton.

Heroes:

Stephen King, John D. MacDonald, Ian MacKaye, Fat Mike.

My Blog

Library Thang

Started cataloging the books I read and audiobooks I listen to at Library Thing.

[[book review ]] Dragon Man by Garry Dishner

This murder mystery was OK. It's set in Australia. My problem with it is that too much was devoted to the numerous subplots going on. Plus, I didn't care for the "hero" of the novel, Detective Challis...

Sorry, Montreal

I gave it some serious thought, but I'm not gonna go to Expozine in Montreal the weekend after Thanksgiving. Even though a table is only $20 or so, and I would sell a decent amount of the Active Bla...

[[audiobook review]] Ricochet by Sandra Brown

Wow, this romantic-suspense book had me on the edge of my iPod for the first 75% of the novel. Then, once the whodunit aspect was revealed, I started to see flaws in Brown's writing, mainly exposition...
