I am a IFC: Certified Life Coach, NASM & ISSA: Certified Personal Trainer, NSCA: Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist, At Present I Manage the personal training department at one of NY's most prestigious clubs. There are many sides to M.A.R.K. but today we will only focus on one. Back in 1992 I started working out at Bev Francis Gold's Gym in Syosset, N.Y. (What a Gym)The name has since changed to Powerhouse. One of the guys that worked there as a trainer named Shawn introduced me to personal training and that was that. I became certified with I.S.S.A. and started working at Gold's gym. Can you imagine going to your new job on the first day wearing a pair of shorts and a T-shirt? I’m telling you, if I didn’t need the money they wouldn’t have had to pay me. I mean going to the gym is what most people do when they get off of work. I was going to the gym for work. WoW!!! I worked with professional bodybuilders and strength athletes which was a great learning experience, but once in a while I would have the opportunity of training an everyday woman. This is where my passion for training came from. I will be the first to tell you that women are on average twice the man, when it comes to working out. What I mean is, pound for pound women put out more effort then men. Most guys won’t agree with what I have just said, but when do they ever. A year later I was recruited by Crunch Fitness by a guy named Charlie Morris. Charlie and I through the guidance of Randy Humola & John Mitchell took NY by storm. From NY to ATL to Cali. No personal trainers made more noise than us. PEERIOD! 100's of lbs in Body Fat were lost & lbs upon lbs of Muscle Mass were gained. That's what we were all about then and that’s what we are all about now. If you were a celebrity and needed to get in shape for a roll you came to us.
