When I was a little girl around 8 or so, our neighbors were a Christian family whose daughter was my age. She wanted me to go with her to Summer Bible School,(something like that) she told me there would be arts and crafts, and I ofcourse wanted to go cut, paint and sprinkle glitter on glue and such, so, I approached my dad. He was watering the flowers around the plum tree. He didn't much care for the way the Christian Church was going, so he said no. He said, " you stay here with Daddy, I'll read Autobiography of a Yogi to you" I cried, "please Daddy! I just want to go do arts and crafts with the other kids " After a moment of silence he looked down at me, his warm blue eyes flashing like raindrops in the moonlight, and he said "Promise me something..." "what?" I said, so excited because I knew he was saying yes. He said "Look at the sky" so I looked at the sky and he said "that's God" then he said "Look at those flowers" so I looked at the flowers and he said "That's God" then he placed my hand on his heart and said "Daddy loves you, that's God, promise me you'll never forget that, and you can go." I promised, I only went to that Summer Bible school thing that one day, I still have that copy of Autobiography of a Yogi, and I never forgot.
