Jasper walks the line between rock n' roll and improvisational experimentalism.
Due to their broad spectrum of musical influence, the music that Jasper creates is hard to define. This elusive quality is birthed from the collective intention of the band; to keep creating and expanding in as many directions possible.
The creative quintet has been rockin' steady for almost three years now. They recorded a live demo titled "For Merriment and Delight" with Brian Zieske at the Gallery of Carpet. It was tracked in two days live to tape, and mixed directly off tape in one day.
Jasper has performed throughout the Chicago-land area at bars, small venues, art galleries and festivals. Some of these concerts have taken place at The Rave, U.S. Beer Co., The Heartland Cafe, and The Clearwater Theater. Their fan base has been growing steady with new listeners every day.
There is a mythical lore behind the Jasper stone that states if you keep it with you, things will come together in the end. For reasons that probably don't need to much explaining, that is why it is our name.
