About Me

Hi there, I'm Andy Scates and I'm a Christian. I do graphic design to pay the bills. I like music, and I play electric guitar and bass. I draw a comic strip. My next goal is to make a feature-length no-budget scifi-fantasy-action-horror-kungfu movie. I'm constantly in the middle of about a dozen books, mostly scifi and theology. I go to a medium/small nondenominational Bible church, and I play bass some there. I believe we are saved by God's grace, not by our works or legalism (thank God for that!), and we exist for his glory. Some descriptives: saint, sinner, introvert, laid-back, artist, musician, sarcastic, friendly, selfish, patient, procrastinator, nonconfrontational until you mess with my close friends, likes the spotlight or the back row but not inbetween. I also really like coffee, curry, and hazelnuts, but not necessarily at the same time. Anyway, so, yeah, that's me.
Read my comic, Three Brothers Tycho . It's the story of three brothers and all the people that cross their path (and sometimes the ones that don't cross their path). It has spaceships, monsters, and robots - plus stuff blows up. ( click here to read it. )
The first issue follows a blue furball named Claud as he and his roommate Darren help their friend Liz move a sofa across town. But! Is this only a portent of darker things to come? Well, you'll have to wait and see. :)
I update it every now and then with around four more pages.

My Interests

Music, guitars, film, reading, sci-fi, theology, coffee.

I'd like to meet:

Oh, whoever.

ps. - If you're a band/musician/label, do not add me unless I know you and/or have played a show with you. Thanks. (What part of this paragraph do people have trouble figuring out?)

pps. - I'm going to rotate through a lot of my friends through the top spots, so don't feel left out if you got left out or get left out, because later you probably won't be left out so you won't feel left out. Right.

ppps. - If you leave a comment that has a weird pic of dubious origin or that is too wide and messes up my page formatting, I'll probably delete it. Nothing personal.

pppps. - Also, I don't check myspace very often, so email or facebook is a faster way to get a response from me. Thanks!
