I DO ALL THE WORK!

About Me

Is this some sort of test? If I lie about myself, will someone call me on that shit? Maybe it's a test of how well my friends, i.e. you, have been paying attention to my life thus far. But if I lie and nobody says anything, does that mean I don't have any friends? Or does it mean they are just gutless worms? Maybe it means they just want me to dig a hole and climb in, with the hole getting deeper and deeper as lie begets lie, until nobody knows the true me, even me. Hell, I don't even know the true me now, and I rarely lie...wait...was that a lie?

You can find out more about me and what I think about this floating rock we call Earth at my other blog: The Blog Splitter

My Interests

I am interested in all things interesting...and circular logic.

I'd like to meet:

People who aren't morons or fanatically religious. Generally, the two go hand-in-hand.

Music:

Bob Dylan, Pink Floyd, Pharoah Monche, Wu-Tang Clan, Bob Marley, Steel Pulse, The Doors, Bright Eyes, The Pixies, The Clash, Outkast, Explosions In The Sky, Velvet Underground, Primus, DJ DangerMouse, Portishead, Lovage, Dan The Automator, John Coltrane, Jeff Buckley, Heiroglyphics, Pearl Jam, The Police, The Abyssinians, The Sex Pistols, Nick Drake, The Smiths, Daniel Lanois, and many, many more.

Movies:

The Deer Hunter, Big Lebowski, all Woody Allen, Goodfellas, Miller's Crossing, Chopper, Requiem For A Dream, Pi, Tommy Boy, Ghostbusters, Caddyshack, all Monty Python, The Incredibles, Murder My Sweet, LOTR, Braveheart, Re-Animator, Re-Animator II, Dead Alive, The Night of the Living Dead Trilogy, all Stanley Kubrick, Platoon, Texas Chainsaw Massacre (original), Weekend At Bernie's, The Burbs, Army of Darkness, all Clint Eastwood westerns, Boogie Nights, Taxi Driver, Dumb & Dumber, Fight Club, and many, many more.

Television:

Homicide: Life On The Street, Simpsons, Seinfeld, Law & Order, The Wire, Sopranos, Carnivale, Deadwood, Aqua Teen Hunger Force, Ali G, Ren & Stimpy, Futurama, Twilight Zone, The Honeymooners, Mr. Show With Bob & David, Kids In The Hall, Family Guy, Rome, Curb Your Enthusiasm, The Office (Brit version), Extras, certain seasons of SNL, Autopsy, Dead Like Me, Rocky & Bullwinkle.

Books:

LOTR, all Hunter S. Thompson, all Bret Easton Ellis, all Neal Stephenson, the Harry Potter series, The Bartimaeus Trilogy, House of Leaves, A Moveable Feast, The Stand, The Dark Tower series, Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy series, The Number of the Beast, all Neil Gaiman, Stranger In A Strange Land, Player Piano, all Jay McInerney, The Thin Man, Insomnia, and many, many more.

Heroes:

Well, growing up I liked the Marvel heroes better than DC's crew, although the DC movies were better than the Marvel ones. I really liked Namor the Sub Mariner. For some reason I was really into being able to breathe under water. He could also fly, which was pretty damn cool. Plus he was a villain in a lot of the earlier stories, and was half-human/half-Atlantean, so in all respects he had the best of both worlds. He was two-sided. Not like the heroes that "moral" people look up to that are so ideal and Godlike that nobody could ever come close to being that perfect. All these clones that are taught to think alike and act alike and dress alike can run off a cliff like the lemmings they are.

A Scanner Darkly

I know there are people out there who hate rotoscoping, but I am not among them. I love the old rotoscoped Ralph Bakshi movies like Fire & Ice, American Pop and Lord of the Rings, and, while I didn't ...

Can You Hear It?

With NBC's announcement that this is the last season of Will & Grace, the deathknell has sounded for the post-Seinfeld group-of-sarcastic-friends sitcom. Thank the Lord. There is only one Seinfe...

Celebrity Sightings

I'm not usually one for gawking at celebrities. In fact, I think most of them are as vapid and ignorant as a 5-year-old home-schooled Christian kid, but occasionally I see one and I have good thoughts...

Hostel Is Fucking Brutal

I saw Hostel last night and I haven't been that unnerved by a film since the first time I saw the original Texas Chainsaw Massacre. Eli Roth showed some promise with Cabin Fever, but he outdoes himsel...

Everyone Must Read This

I'm sorry that I had to get political on this blog. I try to keep that stuff to my other blog, but this was just too damn disturbing for me to only comment on it there. Read the article at this lin...

Rutger Hauer Is Goddamn Awesome!

I'm watching Confessions of a Dangerous Mind, and it has struck me how awesome Rutger Hauer is. He's the actor version of the sasquatch. Nobody believes in him, but when you see him, you see how impre...
