"What did I just watch?" A common thing for on-lookers to say after a When Men Rise Up at the Sound of Birds show. Combining the best elements of todays hard-core scene with a whole lot of chaos, WMRUATSOB is winning the hearts of fans across the nation. Starting in late 2006 Birds quickly started to cover Minnesota and the surrounding states with their much talked about stage presence and "...Just straight up heavy music"-Dusty(Rawhyde).
"We were all raised on Solid State bands like The Chariot, and Norma Jean" says the drummer Zach Wolf, "that common genre interest is what makes us all work so well together."
Releasing their first EP "Just Look at These Kids" in 2007 WMRUATSOB steadily, but rapidly, spread their fan base. "Not everyone likes us, but thats expected when your trying to do something rather than the constant breakdown/breebreebree's/chugchugchug/two-step that you hear in todays hardcore scene." With all that said, we're not in it for the money, or the chicks, or the sandwiches like so many of the bands. "It's just how we love God back, and it's what we enjoy doing."
But don't take it the wrong way, Birds isn't planning on staying in one place. With booking nearly done for a 3 week tour this summer and increasingly larger shows, there's bound to be something big down the road. Two line up changes in 2007 left the band with original members, Justin Dezuirk and Tim Hatfield, and new members, Nate Erickson and Pete Wolf. This completed line-up is coming to a town near you! Be ready to throw some Hot Fire while they Bring the Heat!
