DEVASTATING KARATE is from Venice/SM/MDR. We are a three piece band that formed in June of 2005. We released our first album in January of 2006, and toured the SW that Spring. When describing our music, Chuck Norris completely flipped out, desssimating four Cambodian villages. He said that we are as devastating as one of his round-house kicks. Our shows are absurdly popular and are becomming more so. We often are described as cowpunk, rock or country.
We found this out when we rocked the shit out of a SW tour - Phx was actually Mesa, Tucson was rad with The Little Morts, Las Crucas included speeding a 1975 El Camino and 4 cops at 3am, pissed on the Alamo, don't recollect Red River/Austin, the lame side of a cool bar in Ft. Worth and the nearby veterinary clinic, great show/party in Tulsa, country in South Park, punk rock in Vegas, then back to Venice and the Good Hurt.
In 2007 we released our EP, Santa Monica Lawn Bowling Park, and went up the Pacific Coast a couple times. Best ever! Now we're getting radio play in Los Angeles, San Diego, Tucson (wuttup t-town!!!), Santa Barbara, San Luis Obispo, Santa Cruz, Las Crucas, San Antonia, and of all places, Dayton?
