HeyHello, all started in september 2007 when Kris decided to finally get himself a life after years and years of teaching law at the university of Louvain. In his search for a guitarplayer he met Lieven on the internet. Lievens brother Lukas, who played drums in the one-man-band "The Lukas Experience", also joined and the Executive was born. ------------------------------------------------------------ ---------------------------------- The band started rehearsing with Rico, a friend of Lieven, who played bass and who occasionaly treated the 3 guys on Iced Tea from den Aldi. It was in this period the hit 'Iced Tea (now the stars in your eyes)' was born. Rico however, decided to quit The Executive, because he wanted to pursue his dream of becoming a famous porn-star. The band is still good friends with Rico (who changed his name into Boris Beffer) and we support Rico as much as we can! ------------------------------------------------------------ ---------------------------------- After Rico leaving, Lieven went to search the internet for another bass player, and met Hans, the former bass player of the "Express yourself" blues/rock/jazz band. No time for being picky, as this was a matter of utmost urgency! So they invited Hans to their grandma's basement and started jamming. The first gig was exactly 3 weeks & 3 rehearsals later. ------------------------------------------------------------ ---------------------------------- During one year the four guys gave some great and memorable shows in a lot of different cities, until some musical differences arose in October 2008. The band decided to take a break and see how the situation would evolve allthough time wasn't on their side. ------------------------------------------------------------ ---------------------------------- During these 3 months, some important events would take place. In Januari 2009 Martijn Vanstockstraeten, singer and pianist of Air Traffic, decided to give up his musical carreer. He had enough of all the glitter and glamour of living like a star and got replaced by a look-a-like. Lieven recognised him in a bar a couple of days later and asked him to join the band. Because Martijn was really drunk, he accepted the offer. The same night Lukas got a call from Hans. The coming 5 months he was going to tour through Europe with Metallica, an offer he couldn't refuse. Luckily, a week later Lukas met a strange guy with a bunnyhead. His name was Señor Samuel 'El Saviour' Ruymen and he obviously had coloured his hair several times. The two guys started talking and when Samuel told Lukas he was the founder of basslines from hits as 'Bro Hymn' from Pennywise and 'Seven Nation Army' from The White Stripes Lukas asked if he wanted to join The Executive. A few beers later Samuel accepted the offer and coloured his hair orange. The Executive was reborn! ------------------------------------------------------------ --------------------------------- Allthough Samuel and Martijn joined the band, all problems weren't solved just yet. The band had had arguments about their music and after a while, Kris decided to leave because of personal reasons. So the band lost their singer and went searching for a new one. Lieven remembered that a singer/songwriter called Sam The Great once posted a comment on the band's myspace. When the band visited Sam's site, they were stunned by his music and especially his voice. They invited him for a jamming session. That night, the stars hit the sky. Right now, The Executive has a new singer and has changed their music style completely. They are armed and ready for the future. ------------------------------------------------------------ ---------------------------------------------- The Executive's music is hard to describe, we play some good old rock with brain-damaging guitar solo's, celestial pianoconsonances and some nice tight rhythms combined with a warm funky bass. Our lyrics are about many different things, from simple "Love" songs to more psychedelic texts, to one-liners everybody will sing along, but it all comes straight out of our heart. ------------------------------------------------------------ ---------------------------------- We are ready to rock the world, so make sure you are part of it. ------------------------------------------------------------ ----------------------------------
