Born Herbert L. Sanders, Jr. in Southbend, IN. this producer, singer, songwriter, rapper, studio engineer, and graphic artist started singing at the a very young age in a church in Memphis, TN. Went on to sing in multiple high school choirs in the Memphis Tri-state, Columbus, GA., and Southbend, IN. areas and choir competitions in the state of Tennessee. Graduated high school in 1993 and join the U.S. Army, went to boot camp in Fort Leonard wood, MO., before being stationed at Fort Benning, GA. Started rapping in boot camp for fun and it stuck with him. Had first daughter in 1994. Left the military in 1995 after returning from Desert shield in Saudi Arabia and moved back to Southbend, IN. Bought first beat machine the Boss 550 in Southbend and started taking the rap game serious using the stage name Sand man. Had second daughter in 1997. Moved back to Memphis in 1998 rapping under the stage name Sand in groups such as Ambush, The X-Gen., Capitol Punishment, and The Lost Souls. To high light his career he appeared on Mr. Dels last secular release The 2nd Coming in 2000 as apart of the notorious B-Boy family, rapping under the name Sandity. Herberts wild style can be heard on the 2nd Coming anthems Never saw it coming, I see visions, and Get Down with you. Mr. Del released this album before he went gospel and built Holy South. The following year Herbert and Del went their separate ways. Herbert moved back to South bend to work on a solo Album and a compilation with D.J. Ric. But the Lord had a call on this young mans life and both the Albums were never released. Moved back to Memphis in 2002 to be come a Minister at the New Selby Missionary Baptist Church, started school at Crichton College to get B.S. in Biblical Studies, and started recording Gutter Gospel to minister to the part of the country that is over look. He wanted to minister to the have nots to let them know that Jesus loves them too. Jesus loves the crack head, the prostitute, the hustler, the dope dealer, and the homosexuals as well. But Christ does not appreciate the sins that they are committing, so Herbert was compelled by God with the need to tell them about a man that can save them from whatever they are enslaved by.
