Stephanie Mills career began at the age of nine when she appeared in her first play. She won Amateur Night a record six times two years later. She then played in her first Broadway role, the musical Maggie Flynn. Stephanie began opening for the Isley Brothers in 1973, and a year later she signed with Motown Records, which she left in 1976. Stephanie's career escalated when she played Dorothy in the Wiz in 1975. Her performance of the song "Home" made her a star. While signed under 20th Century Fox record label in 1979, Stephanie began singing disco music, which included a album titled "What Cha Gonna Do With My Lovin", and it was her first Gold Album. She then recorded "Sweet Sensation" in 1980, "Merciless" in 1983. Stephanie released the singles "I've Learned to Respect the Power of Love" in 1985, "If I were your woman" in 1987 which was under MCA Records, in which she signed, and "I Feel Good All Over", to name a few. The album reached platinum status. In 1989, Stephanie released the "Home" album, which also reached platinum. In 1992, she recorded "Something Real" in 1992, and a Christmas Album, before being released from her contract in 1992. In 1995, she recorded "Personal Inspirations", a live gospel recording on GospoCentric Records. In 1997, Stephanie played the lead in Stephen Schwartz's Children of Eden in New Jersey. In 2000, Stephanie recorded singles with BeBe Winans and DMX, just to name a few. In 2004, stephanie released "Born for This", and from 2004-2006, the character of Serenity Zilla in the animated TV Show My Dad the Rock Star, was voiced by Stephanie.Stephanie is currently touring, and 2-disc greatest hits Album "Gold" was released in 2007 by Hip-O/Universal Music.
