Welcome to this unofficial fan page. I am not sure you can remember the original Wear FM 103.4 radio station. It was an independant ran radio station, originally set up for students and the local community in the city of Sunderland. It was first opened in 1990 and was closed down due to financial reasons in 1994. Despite that the radio station won a music award in 1992. The radio station was then taken over and still exists today as Sun FM 103.4. The original radio station, if you can remember, was well known for its weekly evening broadcasts. Held between 7pm to 12 midnight, Monday to Friday. Those radio broadcasts were well known as, The Boogie Bass And The Soul Fish Show. The radio show played a variety of dance and club style music, which was played by a host of local club DJ's in the local North East area of England.
The shows were as follows:
Blackout, Elevation & Hardtimes - Monday Nights.
Playing underground dance music.
DJ's Howie, Yoz, Spen & Slp.
The Drop - Tuesday Nights.
Playing Reggae.
DJ's (Not sure who they were, can anyone help?)
A High Energy show with DJ Mega Sal & Sadie - Wednesday Nights.
Playing Disco & High Energy.
DJ's Mega Sal & Sadie.
Top Ranking - Thursday Nights.
Playing underground dance music.
DJ's Huey, Dom & Master Reese.
Crimewatch & The Bucket Street Massive - Friday Nights.
Playing underground Breaks & Jungle.
DJ's Smokey Joe & B Jam.
Very often many other club DJ's would appear as special guests, and play on the various weekly shows. For example, DJ Poco from Huddersfield, Bass Generator & DJ Crossfade.
I have made this Wear FM fan page (for fun!), because there is a general lack of information regarding this particular radio station. Mostly the information regarding this radio station, is found mainly in various forums & blogs. This site does not have any relation to the original Wear FM, or any relation to SUN FM 103.4 in any way what-so-ever. I have mainly set up this site, because I was a regular listener & fan, to the Boogie Bass And The Soul Fish shows. This page is for rememberance of Wear FM, and to Old Skool Dance Music in general. The streaming media which plays on this site, are not original mixes of the show, but I have created these mixes, to hopefully try to capture some of the original atmosphere of those shows. The music mixes, are around about 20 minutes long each.
