About Me

My name is Shaun Crump. I am 25 and in the U.S. Army. Ive been in for almost 6 years and will be getting out soon after my second deployment to Iraq. I have tattoos and am only limited by time and money. I am writing a book about tattoos titled "SCRATCH". It is a book on the culture of tattoos. It will have biographies about some of the greatest tattoo artists in the world, history, pictures and more. I am trying to pack as much information and history on this art form as I can. I have gotten alot of help from artists and a couple of historians and am alway, and I mean ALWAYS willing to hear a little bit more on the subject. Old school is not the only style I am covering. I have been searching for information on many artists like Horiyoshi III, Sailor Jerry, Eric Inksmith and many, many more. Their art work is outstanding and very book worthy in it's own write. Did you know that the first signs of tattoos are over 4000 years old? They are pictures depicting tattoos on ancient egyptions and actual tattoos on mummies like Kung Tut.
