Born Irvin Joseph Morales, from Williamsburg Brooklyn Nov. 21st 1981. Jay Gutta came from a troubled home as many people have...although his situation was a quite bit different. Coming from a broken home of two Puerto Rican parents life as you can imagine was rough as both short tempered parents married and divorced at an early age. Raised speaking primarily spanish and in a primarily Hispanic neighborhood, (at the time) and living together in a crowded home was quite rough. His father Irvin Morales sr. had remarried, soon changing Jays life forever. Irvin sr. gained custody of Jay Gutta at a young age where Jay then attended catholic school...was placed on a strict diet and learned some manners for two years. He then moved with his father and step mother to New Jersey to live what everyone calls the "suburban life." This was of course no walk in the park for Jay as he was constantly picked on by other children because of his ethnic background..then when he fought back, was punished for defending himself. Jay (living in Jersey) was not able to see his mother often because of custody rights and went back to new york every other weekend (if that) to see his friends and family. Jay suffered brain damage and seizures until the age of 12 from age 7. Jay of course didnt mind much taking the medicine and wearing wires attached by machines to his head through this time as it meant he would face lesser punishments than those which he normally took. One day at age 12 at dinner police raided Jays house and arrested his father for possession and selling of Cocaine and possession of multiple weapons, which meant one thing....Jay was going back to N.Y, back to his mother and starting a new life. He was actually given the name Jay by his mother, short for Joseph since he didnt (and still doesn't) like his real name. He lived the normal life of a teenager in Ridgewood Queens, such as..school, getting kicked outta school, getting arrested twice for graffiti, getting high...all that jazz...until, at the age of 18 he decided to make his mom proud for a change and join the NAVY. In the course of his 4 years in the navy he bought a house in Japan...met many people all over the world....didn't really take much shit from anybody, (higher ranking or not), although he got much shit, and met two friends that introduced him to his love for life....Hip Hop music. August 2003, he began in his last 6 months of the navy gaining his new name while both producing and rapping. Lucky for Jay that he found his calling when he did...as shortly after Jay kicked out of the Military for ecstacy, nearly completing his 4 years. He then went back to New York for One year where he would record his first solo cd "My Time Ta Shine" then releasing his second solo album "Pain and Pleasure".Gutta1
