Project-48 is a project on a Chevy pick-up from 1948. I bought the pick-up 2005 and fixed the brakes and engine so I could drive it. The engine is a 283 and the trans a TH350. I drove it for a while but I had some serious plan to rebuild It. I had the plan allready in my head, before I even had paid the past owner. And I didn..t see the problems at all, just the kool ride. The plan was that the pickup should look old but with a new chassis with air ride. So my good friend Marc called me ( he also building the engine) and told me that he had find a -91 chevy Caprice that have had a engine fire, and that I could buy only the chassis from it if I wanted, so I bought it. It wasnt complete, One A-arm, spindles, brakes etc was missing, didnt have a rear axle. But Marc find one from a caprice -91 with 11 inc brakes and diff. Marc (he is really good at finding stuff) also find a renovate 350 bore to 355 with flat top pistons, renovate heads and a renovate TH700! Thats good! The engine is gonna be built kind of -60 style, dualquads, Pete Jackson noise geardrive, hotter cam, fenderwell headers etc, more about that later.
