"Modern Red’s music just might be the soundtrack to your life." MODERN RED / BIOGRAPHY Modern Red’s music is a unique ambient rock sound that gives listeners more than the normal three chords and recycled hooks. With the subtle influences of Incubus, Coldplay, U2 and Muse the members of Modern Red have songs with a little more heart and soul than most current rock bands. Why? They write songs we can all relate to, songs about real people doing real things.....falling in and out of love, questioning their place in the cosmos, questioning beliefs and commitments, and searching for some shred of truth in an angry unfocused world. Vocalist -matto- and drummer Ant have been playing in bands together since their teens, for these two guys it’s always come back to the dream :to have a band that has a unique, identifiable sound: In 2005 the band recorded the 6 song EP "A Wonderful Beautiful Angle" produced by Devon Allman and Pete Matthews (Evanescence, Dust for Life) and toured around the region for the next two years. Modern Red was recognized for their songwriting ability- top 5 Unsigned Grammy Demo Review, top 50- The Independent Music World Series for the song "Stealing Me". In late 2007 Modern Red teamed up with producer Chris Collum to record their first full-length album. They decided to do the exact opposite of what everyone expected... instead of turning everything up... they unplugged. Strong vocals, acoustic guitars, piano, and percussion--songs that stand on their own. The album "The willing suspension of disbelief" will be released in 2008. With the addition of Ben peters on guitar and Xavier Koenig on bass, Modern Red have discovered their own sound.... melodic, passionate, energetic....
