Originally members of a sustainable resource commune where they developed alternatives to biodiesel, JJ Magazine were assembled by a wealthy and eccentric stock-investing man from the "City" (that's what I call New York). The man forced them to play poprock songs that are at turns literate, playful, and heartfelt. He also forced Michael and Roxanne to study civil engineering at Vassar and Haahvaahhd, respectively. They (the band) are very, very, very, successful.
